  • Jamie Carragher scored 11 whilst at Liverpool in 508 games, 7 of them were own goals.
He came within spitting distance of another own goal.

Were you at the 7-6 Hudders game?
No. The person who took me to games was to busy shopping for Xmas. Was not allowed to go alone as only 10.
We really need a FFS button.
  • Dumbarton are undefeated after six games in the Scottish 1 but lie second from bottom, having drawn all six.

The Fylde v Southend match was delayed yesterday because someone was flying a drone above the pitch. Police investigated the matter and ended up arresting the driver of the Southend team coach.
  • Huddersfield got a penalty yesterday... Was their first penalty at home in 3-years, 6-months, and 16-days

    They missed it.

    Are they still unbeaten?

Myles Lewis-Skelly received a Premier League yellow card before making a Premier League appearance.

  • Sounds like Justin Timber didn't complete a pass either
  • Emiliano Martinez has (I strongly suspect) become the first player to get a ban for pretending a trophy was his cock:

Man Utd have now lost more Premier League matches by three or more goals since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club (23 in 424 games) than they did in 1,035 league games under the Scot (22).

Similar stat (from the premier league thread weirdly), Ten Hag's Man U team have lost by 3+ goals 25 times already (this is all games, not just premier league)

Gillingham's first choice keeper, Glenn Morris, has beaten Andy Hessenthaler's club record for being the oldest player to play for the club. Morris will be 41 on 20th December and in five days time it will be 23 years since making his pro debut for Orient. Despite being born in Woolwich, he would have failed the infamous Charlton height test in barely making 6 feet tall. Morris has clearly matured with age, though, because in his previous stint at Gillingham, a decade ago, he was only selected to play in 9 League games in 2 years.

Morris will still have to play on for another year or so to beat Sam Bartram's record of reaching 42 before leaving us but it is a testament to him, in an era where every aspect of a player's game is analysed to the nth degree, that he is still demonstrating the skillsets that have enabled him to retain the number one jersey. So much so that he was voted Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month for September.

The England team that started the match against Greece had the most talented Flair players all assembled in a team together since ?

Unfortunately picking a team that can work on paper didn't work in reality when most of the side picked can't tackle out of possession and were far too flexible.

Declan Rice even missed his old water carrier mate Phillips !

Reminds me of the keeper (Fabio) still playing at the top level for Fluminense. He is now 44 years old is closing in on Peter Shilton's all time football appearance record.

  • Lord Pannick who is currently representing Man City in court is said to be on £5000 per hour.

He is likely to earn more out of football in the next 3 months than Bobby Charlton did in a World Cup winning career.

(Bobby Charlton left an estate worth £652,000).

Lord Pannick sounds like the Marvel Franchise really is scraping the bottom of the barrel.
  • The Premiership need 14 clubs to vote together to effect rule changes.

Americans have control of nine Premiership clubs and nine Championship clubs.  There is yet more American ownership in the lower leagues, including one sleeping giant in SE London.

Back to the rule of 14 ... Would it be in American interests to move matches to the States or maybe introduce a no relegation rule in line with the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS?

    That is quite worrying.

  • AFC Wimbledon have won 2 games this season by 3+ goals.

3-0 at home to MK Dons, who at the time were managed by Mike Williamson, and 4-0 today against Carlisle, managed by Mike Williamson.
  • Angelholms (a womens team in the Swedish 4th tier) just completed an unbeaten season in which they didn't concede a single goal. However they didn't win the league.

I am sorry, but I am going to have to break my "never use the phrase fuck off on Charlton Life" rule.

    Fuck off.

    (Not you, oohaah).
