Just watching the crowd vids and feel gutted. Afternoon meeting got cancelled and really fancied going but just didn’t want to be a Billy no mates so talked myself out of it. Big regret.
Away end looked and sounded great. Well done all who travelled.
Just back in, crowd played their part tonight (again) Wycombe were a handfull who harried and hastled from start to finish. A touch of quality for the goal, LB left the subs a little late for the travelling addicks but I think he had one eye on Saturday and he thinks we can win it.
Support immense as it was on Saturday and we are to quote @oohaahmortimer starting to create a personality away from the Valley.
With Sunderland dropping points tonight its getting interesting at the tops after back to back defeats at Coventry & Barnsley I didnt expect to say that..come on you Addicks!
Phew. That's twice now this season I've seen Pearce score the winner in away games where we battled away and didn't play that well!
A lot of L1 teams try to play the "Pep" passing way, but this was an old school lower division side, and Akinfenwa was a massive handful tonight, and probably the most effective player on the pitch, I bet Bauer will be very glad if he never has to face him again. Akinfenwa won a lot of first balls.
Dillon at the moment seems unbeatable, that magic combination of form and luck that everyone has during purple spells. Not that I could see very well as most of the action seemed to be down the other end of the pitch!
Great atmosphere from the away fans. Wycombe is a nice ground and club, I hope they stay up, I'm sure they will pick up some points once their luck turns

I pulled a Billy no mates and went to a game on my own for the first time ever. Ended up catching up with loads of old faces and gutted the train home was a fast one as was having a great time reminiscing...
Nice that some of us old boys who used to go everywhere 20 years ago are still around. See you all at Oxford next week!
I can't help but think if we still had KAG that we would be the runaway fave to win the playoffs.
If we still had KAG I dont think there would be a four point gap... we'd maybe be already there in second
Not arguing but which games we haven't won since he left do you feel he would have won us?
Fleetwood / Southend / Doncaster definitely maybe even Blackpool - trouble was we didnt have someone who could get in behind (Fleetwood and Southend) like Grant could with his pace
@ Doncaster we bossed those first 15-20mins and were crying out for someone with Grant's form this season to put it away
Completely agree with this. With Grant we probably would’ve won against a 10 man Southend. We probably would’ve put away one of the chances we created against Doncaster. Maybe even the game against Bristol Rovers away we might’ve done better. I would say we would most likely have another 4 points at least, putting us in a very strong position.
Just got in. What a great night. The support was fantastic. The boys all played well, every single player gave their all. A special mention for Igor. This was his best performance since his first spell at the club. He ran his socks off.
The brief highlights sum the game up quite well. Pearce took his goal very well, a centre forwards goal indeed, the way he got between 2 defenders and calmly finished
Great atmosphere tonight - quite a catalogue of songs given an airing. Tough game. Wycombe gave it everything and made it very hard - they are still playing for their manager and should stay up if they play like that every week.
Not the best we have played and could argue Wycombe deserved a point but bloody everyone of them put a shift in and battled for them 3 points.
I really love this group and the attitude they have never giving up.
I think we may just fall short to get second but I tell you what the teams above will be getting nervous and don’t think any of them would wanna face is in the playoffs.
Fans top notch again even mentioned by the Wycombe pa at half time.

We are the side nobody wants in the playoffs. Igor looked very lively. Purrington might not be the flashiest player but my god have we tightened up since he came in.
Fans this season, away from home have been the best I can remember (even better than the 11/12 season), seems like Bowyer has brought the feel good factor back and Rolands oppression has united fans.
Cuppa & biscuits, then CL.....as always after an away trip.
SO proud of our lads tonight. All for one & one for all, the way it should be.
Every one of them put in a shift, especially when we found ourselves defending against a Wycombe side that came out all guns blazing after the break. Respect to their boys for giving it a real go when their backs were against the wall.
But, thankfully, they didn't have enough to breach what must be one of the strongest defences in L1 at the moment, with Charlton's No1 growing in confidence with every game.
I was impressed with our midfield too, with Williams' absence unnoticed IMO, whilst Josh Cullen continues to shine for his work rate and the way in which he is always looking to make a significant pass.....I don't believe that passing sideways enters his head.
Then, there's the 2 up front.
It goes without saying that Lyle is a crowd pleaser - end of.
But tonight, Igor showed why we have mourned the skill & speed he showed in abundance when he first arrived in SE7. He demonstrated both tonight, with knobs on and was cheered long & loudly when he was subbed.
Igor IS back !
So, another hard fought victory against a team fighting for their L1 life and one well deserved in my book.
15 more points to be won or lost - that's it in a nutshell.
What shall we be feeling come 7.30pm on Saturday 4th May ?
Exhilarated ? Excited ? Exhausted ?
Possibly all three.
But one word I'm sure will describe how the majority of the faithful will feel....
Great night out. Travelling was a bit of a pain with the M25 mobbed on the way north and closed at junction 29 on the way home which meant a boring diversion though deepest Essex. But no matter. 3 points in the bag despite a cautious and unexciting team selection. Absolutely brilliant performance from the fans. We never stopped singing and how our resident drummer’s arms haven’t dropped off is a mystery. A friendly and tidy place to visit. Nightmare to get out though so next time I'll park a bit away from the ground. That said, I hope there isn’t a next time for a while as we will be in different leagues next year when we go up and/or they go down. Hope they survive. Akinfenwa is a joy to watch even if the ground shakes a bit when he runs forward. Some genuine man love between him and Lyle at the end. Should go to bed now but still buzzing.
My one away trip for the season done then. Great stadium, great atmosphere, great birds of prey.
We shouldn't have had to play like that to beat Wycombe - deliberately turning it into a butt-ugly scrap and prevailing because our scrappers are slightly meaner and leaner than theirs - and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Have to trust that Bowyer knows what he's doing with the squad rotation and that we'll put down a marker against Luton that we can outplay teams as well as outfight them.
This Saturday could be extremely significant. Sunderland, Barnsley, Portsmouth and Charlton are all at home playing Coventry, Fleetwood, Rochdale and Luton respectively, On paper, we’re the only one of these home teams who wouldn’t expect to win. If we fail to win, then automatic promotion is almost out of reach, regardless of other results. Similarly, if the other three win, we’re pretty much out of it whatever we do. In either of these scenarios, we’d be relying on too many favours from too many rivals in too few games. However, if we do win and one or two (or even all three?) of the others slip up, then the door is open. Odds are against us, but it’s not over yet! One thing is for sure, if we beat Luton, you can guarantee the fans of the other teams (and Doncaster, Peterborough etc) will be saying that they want to avoid us in the Playoffs.

Best away day since Pompey last year!
Could we just back door it? I’m not ruling us, as I said before, pressure is on everybody else! We just carry on going about our business quietly!

Igor worked his knackers off and deserved a goal.

3 out of 3 for me at Wycombe love it there.

Lots of positives.
Makes me happy, makes me feel this way
The exact type of game we would have conceded late on last season. Could this be our year?
1-0
1-0
3-0
1-0
1-0
2-0
0-0
1-0
The two playoff games were 1-0, 1-0, before it all went mad at Wembley.
Not on a lot of goals for, but zero goals against.

PROUD.
Onwards & upwards with Bow & Jacko at the helm!

Aint no body, like George Lapslie. Makes me happy, plays the charlton way
