Sunderland sales not going as well as they hoped with just under 30k sold as of noon today. They've just increased the number of tickets for members to six each.

As one of the posters on RtG says "Outnumbered by Charlton "
Surprised by this.  Always thought they had guaranteed numbers for this type of occasion
  • Their numbers at Roker Park V Pompey were also well below average....I also find these lowish turnouts to be very strange?
  • transaction on my CC app still says pending, I have the confirmation email from the club

    tickets not arrived this morning

    the wait goes on.....;)
    Same
  • Same
  • And from our ticketing site, only 95 wheelchair seats still available - rest is a sell out.

Pretty sure that if they hadn't made the Checkatrade final 6 weeks ago then they'd have sold out in 2-3 days.
  • Do we think this will be a sell out?
  • Our tickets just arrived, all of them ! Woo hoo.
(PS Credit card transaction still shows as pending).
  • Do we think this will be a sell out?
    For us yes
  • That's the answer then, they went to Roker Park and not the Stadium of Light, SoundAsa£

Anyone else, who paid by card on-line, not had the money taken out of their account by CAFC yet?

    Yes as of 9am

  • Got an answer back from Wembley about hospitality, all sold out.
Apparently there’s loads of restaurants , can’t believe they’ve sold them all out already unreal

we’re in the Venue restaurant which is more bad news cos I’ve never had a result in The Venue that’s how shit I was/am !

They've renamed it The Millers for the day, just to give you half a chance.  ;)

Someone is giving their age away ;)

I'm really surprised he hasn't had to hand in his driving license.

I specifically remember hearing a Sunderland supporter who held some sort of official position - Supporters Trust/Supporters Club sort of thing - prior to their Check-Your-Pulse Trophy Final against Pompey a couple of months ago saying that they could have "comfortably" sold 70,000 for it if that many had been available to them.

We've been suffering under Roland for years and been out out of the Premier League for over a decade. They were a Premier League club 2 years ago. Small time.

Was talking to a Sunderland fan this morning who is in their next phase of issue and he reckons he won't get a ticket so make of that what you will.

I don't think he needed one as he got it automatically while in the army in WW2

So if we sell all 36,700, I believe that exceeds the number we took in 1998. That means I will be in the largest gathering of Addicks in my lifetime. I reckon the previous largest must have been sometime in the 1950s.

What do you reckon, @Airman Brown ?

Not been home since Friday to check - planned break not on the piss ever since - but I believe there was a 40k crowd in the early 60s. That might qualify.

Neither of you would have said that to his face 50 years ago, trust me  ;).

To be fair Wearside to Wembley is a bit further than south-east london/kent.
  • It’s an expensive day out for them. Even if they get the cheap tickets, you’ve got to be looking at a £200 spend. Unless you bring sandwiches and 6 cans of Lidl’s lager

Their London fan club is prob 20k
  • In fairness to Sunderland it can't be cheap to come all the way down to Wembley twice in as many months!
  • my late Dad went to a couple of the 60,000 games and i remember him saying the game against QPR(cup Rodney Marsh destroyed us)and West Ham in a League Cup game were far bigger than the "official" 32,000 given

  • One problem, I suppose, is that you can't get any early bird train deals as the notice is too short. Driving would be the best bet.
