230-7 after 40 overs, current partnership of 30 runs...

Pakistan need 78 runs from 60 balls, Aus need three wickets.

Cummins has bowled out (3-33 from his 10...). Starc, Richardson and Coulter-Nile only have eight overs left between them. Australia need to get two overs from Maxwell and/or Finch.

Starc into the attack - Aussies need wickets but don’t get them that over. 51 from 42 required.

Shame the rain has ruined a few games.
    Really enjoying this competition.

Still got a batsman at the crease. Just hope 10 and 11 can stay with him now.

No. 10 chops on second ball... two wickets in the over and still another ball for no. 11 to face.

Australia win by 41. Great piece of fielding to end it, to be fair.

They looked dead and buried and they threw out that review in hope rather than any expectation. The tiniest contact on ultra edge gives them their wicket and Pakistan crumbled thereafter.

Here's to someone absolutely ruining them. Maybe even England!

New Zealand could do it too if they get over their complex
  • Enjoyed that game.  Shame about the result

If England turn up and play like we know they can we will ruin them.

Off to see the Aussies against Sri Lanka on Saturday, not hopeful of an upset!

IND v NZ at Trent Bridge today - guess what, start delayed due to wet run-ups.

Weather forecast not looking too promising either.

Eng v WI at Southampton tomorrow - weather forecast, touch wood, looking quite good.

  • The weather is making a bit of a farce of the tournament . Such a shame

Better not as he's a doubt with (worryingly) a bad ankle

Another match abandoned, really hope this weather improves or the tournament will become a nonsense.

At least with every team having 9 matches to play, it is less likely that one of the best sides will fail to make the last four. As it stands the semi finalists should be England, India, Australia and NZ and it is difficult to argue that they aren't the 4 best teams in this tournament.

There should, however, have been provision for each game to have a 2nd day in the event of rain.

I wasn't a fan of the "10 teams all playing each other in a group" arrangement, but it has come in handy with the bad weather, as even with 2 lost games per country that still leaves 7 matches to play which is enough to give each team a fair crack.
