Thierry Small called up to what is basically the England U20s, who saw that coming?
I did say I thought Thierry had the highest ceiling/potential of any of our players including Leaburn a few weeks ago. He was Everton's youngest ever player at 16.1/2 and just checked and he had represented England in the younger groups.
I would play Small and Edwards and give Small licence to attack and keep whipping in those crosses similar to the good left footed crosses against the Chelsea 18-20 year olds. When you have Leaburn, Gassan or Godden why wouldn't you use their height or heading ability. We make the pitch so narrow with our box midfielders where we need to utilise the width against most sides.
Even with the box midfield you can still push your full back up as you have two defensive 6's in midfield plus two mobile CB 🤞🏻 with the 4-4-2 box if you don't play the diamond.
Do we get a development fee if he leaves on a free?
If a player has signed a contract with a club and is contracted with them prior to turning 23, that club will be entitled to a payment from the club he signs for next, even if his contract had expired when the new contract was signed.
Interesting article with Chris Lock here, what I'd forgotten is that he is on the coaching staff for the U20's which probably helped Small with his call up
Conor Coventry called up by Ireland for the game against England
But... But... But... Charlton fans can't see what he brings to a League 1 side!
This just proves that Charlton fans no more about football than international managers...
All about opinions at the end of the day. If their manager thinks he’s an option then fair enough. Does not make any Charlton fans view on any different to what they have already witnessed
Good job Small was called up for England otherwise it would have been a moot point

So we'll only be without Wollacott for the Barnsley tie
With our mounting injuries we can't get this weekend cancelled against the free-scoring Peterborough
Thankfully we've got Danny Hylton poised and ready like a coiled spring.

Neither Karoy nor Kaheim came on for Jamaica as they narrowly lost to the US in the 1st leg of their Concacaf Nations League quarter-final.

Good to know too that he was born in Waltham Forest, so if he has a stormer, England still have time to pinch him
