Was it £11m Brentford got for Konsa, and he’s only making the bench at Villa? It’s certainly easier to turn a profit selling players if you’re a Championship club. Premier League teams less likely to take a chance on a League One player. Obviously there are exceptions like Lookman.

Loathe Brentford with their rich owner splashing the cash. Sure they may make profit on transfers but how do they pay high wages on 11k crowds. 1-1 and anorher point is seen as a little bit disappointing.
On Wednesday. we witnessed a mesmerising spell of football that made a more than competent side like Forest look ordinary. I'm a bit of an oldie sadly, and I can't remember us ever playing at that level before. It felt like we were on a roller coaster ride. Was it an oasis or a sign of things to come? Did the pressing and high tempo movement take too much out of the players? These are questions I can't answer, but I think we have a man that can in charge.
It is going to be very interesting to see how we play today following the Forest game. Brentford are a solid side with some excellent players but they seem to be lacking in the goal scoring department looking at their previous results. Obviously, we are all hoping that what we saw on Wednesday will be honed and improved and as players get fitter, sustained for longer. Of course, we may never see football like that again. But the fact we did from our players is exciting, irrespective of the disapointment of a late equaliser on Wednesday night. It surely stands to reason that if you have done something, you are capable of doing it again.
If this is the start of us playing football at that sort of level, I think we have to be a bit less cautious and admit we have a great chance of going up, not just staying up. But as they say, one swallow doesn't make a Summer. I am going into today's game with a real tingle of excitement. That is normally a bad sign for a Charlton side, but I think Bowyer's Charlton is a different animal to the the one that gives you hope and then kicks you in the teeth. We shall see. I do know that what I saw on Wednesday for 40 minutes was Premiership level football. But it was 40 minutes, not 90 minutes!

It’s more tiring chasing shadows than being the shadow. If we wilt in the second half, so do they.
Whilst the first half against Forest was brilliant, I think the tempo was way to high - we were running near empty towards end of 2nd half, and that let Forest in for an undeserved point (plus putting on 2 subs when we were about to defend a corner)
A little bit of game management is needed to survive a full match - we have the skill, ability, speed and desire to challenge all clubs in this division IMO
The alternative is to stuff so many goals into the first half, that we can sit back and defend a big lead 2nd half - that however is unrealistic

I remember the atmosphere. The J block being closer to the pitch and back then I thought the stadium was huge.
Once Kayal and Hemed are fit enough to feature for us, the alternatives available from the bench will be full of genuine game changers.
