I wonder who from? Duchatelet, Bowyer, Murray or Gallen himself? I would not be surprised if RM resigns, takes his money and it is RM doing the statement.

OMG. Duchatelet has done something positive and complimented them all. Has he woken up in a stupor? Has he had a bang to the head? What is the owner on?? He got so wound up in the summer as he thought Bowyer was not going to sign a contract and now he has promoted a key man to the Board to help run the football side of things. WoW. Next he will give Gallen a budget in January to push for promotion to the dreamland. It's like he has woken up after 4 years and finally realized what is needed for a football club to run.
Whispers going round TD and TK to be announced as “Joint Fans Liaison officers” and will be regularly seated in The Covered End on match days to gauge opinions. 😉
Roland changed his ways a long time ago, when he realised his plan in English Football wouldn't work and the difference with football and fans in England. (Started at Slade)
We have gone full circle with a Manager who has connections with the club and fan base, English players being signed of Championship / Premiership Quality with an apparent smallest budget..
What is plain to see is that mistakes have been made, you cannot change the Past only present and future.
The Bonus is that we have acquired a whole new generation of younger Fans on our visit of League One, Gallen as Director.
Bowyer is in Full Control like back in the Day with Curbs.

Perhaps Duchatelet has finally woken up to the fact that knowledgeable British football people with solid football experience ...... know more about what's needed to successfully run a football club in England than he does?
As a lot of people have said. Why now? Why not leave him in his current role? Unless if he is headhunted, then as a Director would be worth more? He mentioned about the No 1 priority that he still wants to sell but that is lower down.
I’m assuming his remit, responsibilities, objectives won’t change in any way?
Someone to shoulder the blame when Taylor leaves and to do those “on the pitch” presentations now RM has burnt his bridges?
But he could do that within current role / job title without being made a director
Maybe you’re right, does it become more difficult for a director to resign? I assume he’s only on a 1 year deal as per Bow and JJ. I can imagine RD saying I made you a director so you’re not getting a pay rise. But when RD starts taking responsibility I’ll stop thinking everything he does is the deflect the blame from himself.
If I was SG I am not sure whether I’d be comfortable with the additional responsibility and potential liability of being a director, especially with an absentee and erratic 100% owner.
Roland has banged on about reducing the costs within the club to enable it to be more attractive to sell. He will probably break even this financial year.
Gallen has been an unbelievable member of staff, you cannot physically put a price on how valuable he is to us. He’s been doing the job of head of recruitment, director of football, and chief executive all in one. Being a director is now almost a reward but really the least he deserves.
We now can protect our asset better which helps the club on and off the pitch. But it also makes us more attractive to sell.
I am not entirely convinced that Roland is now really trying to sell the club. However, if he is, he could think that the financial side is being dealt with, having Gallen on the Board of Directors can help make the playing side more attractive to buyers. Potential new owners will now have a direct contact access with Gallen and for me, that can only be a positive because he’d be able to sell the club and the positives far better than De Turk ever did or could.
Overall, congratulations Gallen, it’s genuinely well deserved.
A lot of people seem to be seeing this as a promotion/ reward.
Is it?
I say that openly as I don’t know and have no experience of being a director of a company. But I know with it brings certain responsibilities and duties, along with the importance to exercise independent judgment.
So will he simply be carrying on with his current remit but have the jazzy title of director?
Does it allow him to sign off of things quickly and not have the rigmarole of delaying process by needing a director Duchatelet/ Murray authority?
Or is his role changing and he will now have a greater input and authority into football strategy, budget allocation etc?
Or something else?
being a director of a company though brings you accountability into its decision making and a responsibility to wider stakeholders. As stated on Company House website:
”When making decisions, directors must also consider the likely consequences for various stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers and communities. They should also consider the impact on the environment, the reputation of the company, company success in the longer term”
This is bonkers. The appointment. The fact he agreed to it. People's reaction to it.
Gallen has done a fantastic job, how ever much we are paying him it isn't enough. But isn't "director of football" just a job title? Ie you don't need to actually be a director? Eg you can have director in your job title without being a "director".
I also assume he is just a director, not a share holder?
Doesn't the fact that he is officially a director of a limited company carry a significant legal obligation?
You can normally resign from a directorship easier than you can from an employment contract, as long as you aren't the last one!
If Rick is right and LVT hasn't been seen since May, which I have no reason to doubt, who has been signing the cheques? 13 odd players don't sign for nothing.
If its a sign RD is suddenly going to try a massive about turn I would expect another appointment this week ie a "director of non-football", ceo, chief executive, chairman or what ever title they get.
This is, imo, significant, but I have no idea why. Why Roland would do it nor why Gallen would agree to it?
If its a way of showing appreciation to Gallen there are other, better, ways of doing it. If it's away of making sure he doesn't leave, there are other, better ways of doing it. I would be shocked if Gallen asked for it. Does it "add value" to the club, not really.
There is an angle to this, from Roland, and it pisses me off I can't see what it is.

On its face, this is positive but ... I also wonder why it’s happened.
In any event, my gut instinct prompts me to view this as very positive.
Why? I’m not really sure but this just feels right.

The loan is a separate matter.
what has triggered this?
I’m assuming his remit, responsibilities, objectives won’t change in any way?
They are clearly not the words of two sheds.
There will be a reason for this move, but for the life of me I can't think what it might be, apart from getting the fans off Roland's back.

LB has a moan in public, then praises RD when he's got what he wanted.
Winning just puts them in a stronger position
Could have been a clever move all round for once
