  • We could do without James Vince having a good series. We have so many better top order players. Don't know how he is still in consideration.
He should be dropped for his fielding alone - two absolutely shocking drops today
Malan joins him too - looking into the sun with his glasses on top of his hat!!!
  • Bairstow out first ball of the innings. Vince walks out to the crease and realises that he has two right handed gloves.
  • Vince's miserable day is complete when he manages to find one of only two players on the boundary and is out for a solitary single

    3-2
  • 49-3 from 6 overs. Malan and Billings at the crease.
  • Vince has had a mare.
  • Quickfire 32 off 17 from Morgan and Billings follows with a poorly executed attempt at hitting over extra

    67-4 off 9

Malan still there on 22 (21)
  • Big man Colin catches Curren on 9.

  • And then Sam Curran joins his namesake Sam (Billings) at the School of Brainless Cricket!

    91-5 off 11
  • Malan soon follows to become the 6th man caught in the outfield by NZ. And therein lies the difference between the two sides today.
  • Sleep time within the next 20 mins I reckon.

  • Jordan smashes 22 off 4 balls
  • 120-6 off 14

    57 off 6 overs needed
  • Go on Jordan!
  • Jordan becomes the 7th England batsman caught in the deep for a very impressive 37 off 19

    134-7 off 16
  • And Gregory is caught just outside the ring giving De Grandhomme his 4th catch
  • Big man Colin catches Gregory.

    144-8
  • Mahmood is caught too

    148-9 off 17.3
  • Sleep time within the next 20 mins I reckon.
I was 5 mins too negative!
  • Bowled Rashid. 155 all out.

    NZ win by 21 runs.

We lose by 21 runs as Rashid is bowled. Which is a shame because we would have made history had he been caught as we would have been the first side in the history of T20 Internationals to have had all 10 batsmen out that way.

NZ held 9/9 catches. We dropped at least 4. Had we held those we would have won.
  • Never understood why MOM has to be someone from the winning side. Santner gets it for figures of 4-0-25-3 and a duck with the bat whereas Jordan returned 4-0-23-3 (plus had a drop off his bowling) and hit 36 off 19 balls.

Can never understand that either. It would have to take an outstanding performance for that to happen. I wonder how many times it has happened?
  • First international wicket of many for Parkinson
  • Parkinson taken off after two good overs and England fall apart
  • New Zealand got 180
England go from needing 42 off 31 balls with 8 wickets left
to needing 26 off 8 with 3 wickets left
  • 19 needed off last over

  • England score 4 off the last over and lose by 14 runs ...
27 scored off the last 31 balls
  • Just watched the highlights.
    The usual Englnad batting collapse.
Some good innings from Vince(again) and Malan whilst not taking us over the line(again) from 140-2 to 149-7?. Virtually all the wickets were given away, Banton doing a scoop that he missed,Malan,Morgan and Vince all hitting straight down fielders throats, and Billings running himself out.So thats your top 5 gone for you. Once that has happened, and you've only got the sixth formers coming in after with Sam Curran at 6 (who also scooped it straight it to the fielder), then you are always going to struggle regardless of what position you are in.
  • Not sure where else to post it, but I see Malan has left Middlesex to join Yorkshire. A sign of their struggles, when Middlesex are losing players to other clubs
