Toast needs no social distancing to enjoy (bread helps of course)

I got bread in the 6th shop I went to yesterday. I am having to self-limit on my toast intake.

Toast is one source of continuity (along with beer) during lockdown

Beans on toast is a meal of the gods.

Might sound strange but I’m partial to a combination of peanut butter (got to be smooth) and marmite or peanut butter and Branston pickle. Always on brown, can’t remember the last time I ate white toast.
    they've been watching you

Tried this the other day, it was horrible. I love marmite and peanut butter but they don’t go together well.

Saw this topic come up on page 1 and just had to have Salmon fish paste on crusty white toast ... a childhood favourite and bloody delicious

What toast variation will you be celebrating our new ownership with?

It's a good question. I would imagine that, like me, the first thing most of us will have done on hearing the news is get some toast going. I'm very much in a marmite phase at the moment, but that could change.

Very good on toast, even better on crumpets.

I'm probably one of the few people on here that doesn't eat toast.

    1. I threw the toaster out when we caught mice living inside it eating crumbs.
    2. We rarely buy bread, I could probably count how many loaves I've bought this year.

Toast every day for breakfast with butter and marmalade.

Unfortunately, marmalade seems to be a niche spread these days and my favourite - Duerrs Fine Cut - is only available in one particular supermarket near me (not my usual one.)That means I end up buying 6 jars at a time!
I have a particular penchant for Ginger Marmalade.

I've got to wade in here

Breakfast toast is butter with strawberry jam or marmalade thinly spread. Occasionally marmite peanut butter

Cheese on toast done properly is delightful, splash of Hendersons relish or Lea and perrins

Scrambled or poached egges with a twist of pepper and chilli flakes on some sourdough or tiger bread

This may be heresy ... but ... does anyone else toast their bread ... on one side only?  (Gulp).

    There.  I've said it.
