That Daily Mail piece, the whole basis of the fact the points deduction would be carried over to next year is because it wouldn’t be possible to complete appeals etc in time.
But no mention that in that case the clubs that are relegated would appeal - and they would have the same amount of time to complete an appeal process.

I thought the Wigan appeal went in about two weeks ago, which is how long it takes to decide3

The above is a fair point and one that hadn't crossed my mind. If the clubs threatened with points deductions are having them put off until next season due to the length of appeal process. What happens if the clubs relegated decide to appeal ? There may be a situation where nobody gets relegated !! Now that would be weird. Yup totally agree. It is so obvious... we are about to get shafted even if we manage a win on Wedesday. Some obscure EFL statement will be issued saying as we havent produced the required paperwork take a points deduction. EFL are a trade organization, blame the clubs including our own for the failures in firstly making the rules and secondly in administrating them.2

Am I going nuts here? I thought Wigan weren't able to appeal as the 12 points for administration is a set penalty, one that doesn't confer the right of appeal?1

Nothing happened because teams wouldnt work together yet of course, the only way the Old Firm were going to agree to it was if they had their "B" teams in the bottom tier that could play up to the Division behind the SPL!!1 -

Look at how our fans got treated by police (thanks to one idiot) after returning to London from West Brom away earlier in the season
No Government will truly care about supporting us in their policies as beyond the Premier League teams are seen as nothing entities because we're not high profile enough
Certainly no team will care enough about those in the EFL once they reach the Premier League because they'll be relieved that they're no longer under that governing body1 -

Personally, I think this is not as far fetched as it might initially sound. If the Premier league want to screw smaller clubs, an anti Premier league could be formed. It could align with foreign clubs and form its own international competitions too and be built around individual teams competing against each other within a framework that is centred around the common good. It could attract a lot of fans disillusioned with football today. It could have strict wage limits and ban agents.1 -

Unfortunately because of the last bit of your post I dont know of anyone who could come in, control the new league and keep its values firmly in check that contain it from becoming like the current EFL?
It doesnt help when you've got the likes of Salford City ploughing their way through the Non-League pyramid, e.g. You had Andy Holt having that social media spat with Gary Neville around the start of the season about buying their way into the Football League at the cost of other more historic clubs, in a way Neville was right when he retorted saying that Accrington Stanley had virtually done the same thing - My point is that the EFL will to continue to ignore clubs that drop out of their "club" because you'll have plenty of Non-League clubs willing to take the incredibly stupid financial risk to replace them - And if it gets to the point where there arent any Non-League Clubs to replace the EFL ones disappearing then thats fine because thats when we can use "B" teams to plug the gap.
Football in this country has simply turned into one giant pig trough... Pigs will come along and just try and milk as much money as they can from it before the next leech comes along
The ONLY time we'll see any remote change is if SKY and BT suddenly go bust because there will be the biggest panic in this country as you'll have nearly every club from top to bottom suddenly shitting themselves because there really will be no money left, unfortunately with the likes of Amazon Prime jumping on board that isnt going to happen anytime soon so the only other way there will be remote change is if one of the top six get into serious financial difficulty
Although they shouldnt worry as no doubt like Aston Villa when they were in the Championship recently, they'll get bailed out and helped to remain where they are!!2 -

No one has an issue with a team playing an illegible player being denied a win in a cup competition, or in a game because it is against the rules. It happens in kids football.SW, Derby, Birmingham and a few more have effectively been doing this by ignoring the rules and paying players that they could not buy and pay if they had stuck to the rules.
What is worse is that the owners are the very people who make the rules. Some of them nod in agreement, and then walk out thinking f**k that, I will do what I like and do better than I should.Football will be better, or sport as you call it, will be far better if the cheats get relegated and clubs like Luton, Barnsley and Wigan survive.

What I find sad is that we have one of the best endings to a League season ever, with no team yet relegated, yet by 10pm Wednesday no-one can say for sure if they are relegated or safe. You should be able to be jumping for joy or kicking the cat, but everyone will be a but meh saying......yeh but.

This whole situation confirms what we all know,that the EFL are a not fit for purpose shambles.They wanted the clubs to decide on the outcome of the league had they not been able to finish the fixtures ,shirking their reponsibility.It is taking months to decide what to do about the cheats,and months to try and bring some semblance of understanding what is happening at Charlton.Seriously,what do they do all day,how many of them are just sitting their in enormous leather armchairs knocking back the brandy,and getting paid fortunes.

Right lads,this club is guilty 21 points deduction and so on.Overnight the cheating stops.Lets see Derby pay Rooney 80k a week in league 1.1
