Buddha Belly were a truly disgusting abomination. An assault on the senses from the food and a reminder why you should have second thoughts and carefully read any reviews before booking that bargain all inclusive holiday

went to the blackfriar last night and the george at london bridge - pretty well set up for outside drinking - bit of hassle if you want to drink inside.

The George is lucky as it has a massive courtyard, and even has outside gents bogs!

@se9addick erm arrived at 4.15 and was ermpty after 5.30 there was a slight q for service and bogs, if you want to sit inside you need to give all details and they have the pub halved for sitting which is table service only, if you are outside on a table or standing you are allowed into a certain bit 1 at a time, place order and 1 point collect further down the bar and use a different door you came in and out of only contactless or chip and pin allowed.

    have 5 drafts on
peroni, amstel, camden pale, camden hells, guinness

no cask currently and very limited selection of wine.

the george is a bit more strict - sanitise before enterting, sanitise before ordering a drink, sanitise before collecting order. 6 max to a table outside and no standing allowed.

was going to go the red barn with a pal who is down for the weekend saturday evening but apparently its all done via an app and honestly cant be fucked so if weather is okay will just drink in my garden.

Some of the apps are great some I’ve found a pain in the arse , on mine it’s no different to using the amazon app & as quick to get going, u can set it up before coming in or I’m giving a free drink to those who download it when they come so they can sit & drink without paying while they get used to it & b4 you’ve finished your 1/2 u will b good to go.

Did you have an app set up before all of this?

Do you think you'll stick with it after all the restrictions are gone?

As much as I'm not keen on drinking in a spoons, I have always liked the convenience of ordering via their app

No I didn’t have one before but it has more benefits than I’d thought of & now we do a full takeaway service it works as a one stop shop for using home or in the pub with the same screen you just put table number instead of address ,QR code on each table or menu so just point ur phone at it & ur off , it’s a web app so nothing to download & no use of data or memory.

Ill definitely keep it after all this but as I am now I’ll always offer a traditional waiter service alongside for those that would rather not.

The free drink has encouraged most to use it & 100% positive feedback it’s quicker to order & makes the bar more efficient now we don’t have to wait 10mins while Mavis decides if she wants a sherry or brandy or an eternity finding her purse & counting her pennies, we will always be there for Mavis it’s just now 5 others can be served while she’s ordering!

I was told today how nice it was not having to break conversation by going to the bar or the neck craning trying to catch the waitresses eye, just two clicks & your beers on your table.

Yes m8 all open yesterday, we were bookings only but had no walk in customers anyway which was good , some seemed nervous on entry but relaxed when they left ,everyone saying how quite we are not really understanding we are staggering bookings purposely to keep it that way so they liked that we had no crowds.

No one wearing masks other than the staff , everyone seems to be taking a free one on entry & taking it home but not wearing it inside so I might do away with the free ones at the door & just do them on request.

The apps working well but I’ve noticed the staff were as nervous as some customers, most have not been around people for so long & it’s a bit surreal being back at it , almost as if the last 4 months hasn’t happened.
This time next week I’d imagine it will be everything back to normal & lockdown will b a distant memory & that worries me.

Ear wigging at tables & chatting to old friends it seems most took lockdown seriously but they are 50-60+ & despite the age of my customers I’ve not heard of any of them that have tested positive but hear a hell of a lot of “I was really rough in January so I’m sure I’ve had it”, a lot talking about taking holidays most UK.

Last night was the first night in months I’ve not put the kids to bed & I didn’t like that.

But so far so good the weekend will b the test.

Government is considering the making the wearing of face masks a mandatory duty whilst in shops and other 'confined spaces'. Will pubs be included?
In the pub photo, Johnson (the state of him!) and his Brexit mates demonstrate that they are above such things. Hypocrites? Not at all. The mask-wearing idea came about only very recently.
(When Johnson was shown the data about a 'second wave' of Covid-19, perhaps).

Having our end of season Charlton party today. Booked a table in a pub for 3PM. Had a two window last week which turned into a three hour window. Should be a lovely day for it.

Went into the Bitter End(pub) on Masons Hill last night.  It was great, there was about 10 people in there and you could go to the bar and get served as normal.
Apart from having to give your name and number it was business as usual.
