But is Wolves currently too much of a challenge? He wants a job where he has a chance of moulding a side and all their recruitment definitely haa little to do with the manager. Wolves are a bit gamble due to their current plight and you would have no control over the January recruitment.
True but he'd have his foot in the door at PL level where doing well would lead to bigger things. Nuno had a couple of good years at Wolves and got the Spurs job.

A couple of good years at Rangers will get you an interview at a bottom half club.

If Beale goes to Rangers and makes a success of it Gerrard’s managerial reputation will be toast.
Why's that? Gerrard did a fine job at Rangers. Things only turned sour for SG at Villa, a different club in a different league. Rangers form has also dippped since Gerrard left.
Much of the talk around Rangers circles is that their relative recent success was due to Beale’s coaching rather than Gerrard’s management.  Since they both left, Rangers have plummeted and Gerrard has screwed up at Villa without Beale’s assistance.  May just be a convenient story of course. There are other reasons for Rangers’ decline includingvlarsjmont in the transfer market and failure to replace ageing/departed stars. And Beale hasn’t exactly set the heather on fire at QPR. But there is no doubt that Gerrard’s halo has slipped a bit.

The money at Wolves has dried up a bit though, with the Chinese owners scaling back their plans. It's not the ambitious club it was 3 years ago.

You need to have another look at the Championship table where QPR are in the mix.

Wolves seem to be on a downward curve, Rangers with European football is a better choice, especially as he had a lot success there

I can see why someone would want to have a go at Rangers because Scottish football is a two horse race. Make a success of it and youl’ll get your shot in the English top two divisions. He’s already got that and failing at Rangers would be a career disaster.

You need to have another look at the Championship table where QPR are in the mix.

The issue is that, since he turned down the Wolves job, QPR have been going in one direction (from 1st to 7th) in a period during which they have picked up one point in the last five matches, scored just one goal and lost to teams in 13th (A), 21st (H), 24th (H) and 11th (A). That is not the form of a team that is going to be in the play off shake up and he may well have been concerned that he wasn't going to get the reinforcements he wants in January.

That doesn't make him a bad Manager by any stretch but it does undermine his decision not to take a Premier League job and does reinforce the thought that going to a club in a two team league, with the prospect of European football, is a safer option for him at this present moment in time.

QPR fans aren't happy because they read the statements about "integrity" and "a job to do at QPR" rather literally and Beale. from a reputational perspective, might have done better to have toned those down a bit.

History shows that SG delivered Rangers a first league title up there in years which I believe also prevented Celtic going on to break the record for consecutive title wins. No doubt Beale was an important cog in the wheel as you suggest, but nothing changes the fact that SG was their title winning manager. Therefore whatever Beale goes on to do up there as manager can't alter that part of their history.

I agree that Gerrard's halo has slipped but only because of what happened at Villa, a different club in a different league.  You are therefore making an apple and pears comparison in my humble opinion with your initial point.

They still spent over 100m in the summer though, including Nunes for 40m+ who was in the Portuguese league team of the season last year.

Also weren't helped that the striker they bought to compete with Jimenez (who himself has had injury issues) did his ACL on his debut.

This interview, and what was said, feels even more interesting now - especially as he is taken some of the QPR coaches with him it appears.

"It's the opportunity to build something special.......My words mean quite a lot to me........Clarity is very important to me, knowing where you're going........ If you make a big decision you should stay committed to it and see it through"

It's not just the fans that are wondering what is going on but also the players especially those signed by him. I suspect that this is all to do with the loss of form of the team and the fact that he has no guarantees of investment come January that would keep them in the play off picture.

He seems to have been good at the half time team talk, as his team is transformed from the first half.

When Beale turned down the Wolves job, QPR were top and he talked about the fact that he had a "long term project" at QPR and he was being lauded for his loyalty. A run of bad results and an invitation from the Rangers that is north of the border in what is a two team league was too good to turn down.

QPR have since sacked his successor, have picked up 12 points in their last 21 matches culminating in a 6-1 defeat to 3rd bottom Blackpool and now sit in 19th place. It seems Beale knew which way that particular project was going.

Maybe they’ll sign Bonne on a free
Far too expensive at that price , there’s only one team stupid enough to do that …..

A bizarre downturn in form. Beale timed his exit perfectly!

There's an account that has recently been posting pro Michael Beale comments. It looks like the account may have been set up by Beale himself.

There was a twitter account posting a lot of pro Michael Beale content, defending him at different points of his career. And it looks like it’s been linked to being Michael Beale himself.

I take two things from that. One, it's interesting how the club were getting a lot of grief for not pushing the boat out for Beale for the last two/three hires not including our most recent one and now just a couple of seasons on he's starting to be seen as an absolute joke character, and two, the people we hire as our youth coaches are insane
