If we win this one it will be a major step in us staying up. Play your best team.Sage said:
Not really, he would’ve been in the red zone to start today, he will likely come on and as we have an extra day recovery before Birmingham, I would expect him to start in that one instead.SELR_addicks said:No Williams again. Joke.0 -
Or Purrington is getting the Marshall/Fosu treatment.Sage said:Regarding Purrington, I think Bow is thinking of just keeping what worked before. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Purrington start next weekend.
However, today Oshilaja is up against Meite who is quick and left footed, so the fact Oshilaja is quicker than Purrington, and is right footed, could be important reason in that decision today.0 -
At the risk of creating long term injuries? - There is a chance we'll keep Williams this "summer" because of the uncertainty created by COVIDFortune 82nd Minute said:

There isnt going to be a long break after after this season, instead it'll probably restart in September
Wouldn't you rather rotate the squad completely (Its happening elsewhere in the team too not just McGeady | Williams) instead of risking starting next season with players already unavailable due to injury?1 -
No Williams is crazy... Not happy with that line up... LB must know what he's doing 🤞0
-
And risk Jonny getting injured and missing the rest of the season? Yeah, not a wise move.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

Arguably our best 5 players at Brrntford on the bench . Must be a fitness thing .1

Marshall / Fosu werent even making the bench if I'm right?
Purrington on the other hand was still involved against Hull and QPR in terms of getting minutes0 -
Johnny had a good run of consecutive games before his injury v Derby or Leeds I remember. He didn't need one game on, then one off.0

Started the season as Oztumer hadnt arrived, then got rotated for large period
Its a game of russian roulette with him, keep starting him in quick succession and he will eventually break down, just how long do you risk it for?1 -

If they have a winger on the right who likes to cut inside then Deji works well. It didnt work against Millwall as Romeu and Wallace kept doing him on the outside. It's all about the match ups. Trust Bow to get it right.1

Rotation. Williams can come inmid_life_crisis said:I just don't get McGeady over Williams.
Never will.
today as impact sub, and will start the next game.2 -
And IF we are 3-0 up after 50 minutes and Williams then goes off, safety is well within reach and his absence in the midweek game will not matter.Sage said:

Think I preferred it when we had all the injuries.Bows unable to fiddle as much.0

He really did. Would play 60 at the weekend 30 off the bench midweek every time. People were moaning about it in here then even when we were winning.mendonca said:Johnny had a good run of consecutive games before his injury v Derby or Leeds I remember. He didn't need one game on, then one off.2 -
Meite is the man you have to close down ,do this and it will help.
Lack of goals from our front men is our down fall so far this season.
We have to win today nothing else will do.
Will we have to wait until a little over 1515 for that.1 -
He wouldn’t last 50 minutes today, he’d be blowing before half time. It’s better to play him for 20 and make an impact and not be injured because he’s in the red zone to start than it is to play someone who is in that zone and then be injured.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

Tuesday was his first start in 4 months. He can’t start today.3 -
I'd rather be in the Championship than league 1 personally. Can't be worrying about next season and whether we'll have Williams or not.ForeverAddickted said:

Feel like I did before the first play off semi last season. Dear me....1

Even failing to rotate players today could impact our Championship status thoughcafcsinger said:

Being unable to rotate in November | December | January is the reason we're down where we are because we had seniors running on fumes and breaking down whilst the kids couldnt cope0 -

Just got in from walking the 🐕.
So pwr, ecsept looked up the team.
No Williams, Field or Doughty but we knew Lee would need to rotate.
I'm sure they will come on.

Not on Sky, they’ve decided all our Saturday games are to be 12.30. We kick off at 6pm on Wednesday away at Birmingham and then again, 12.30 against Wigan next week.cantersaddick said:Is it on sky? Why is it a 12.30?
They know that the majority of our points have come from Saturday 3pm kick-offs.

I think it is very much a 16 man game now with so many games in quick succession.2
-
Would he have made 7 subs? I just find it strange that he is the only fit specialist left back at the club, was a regular, now made 2 subs appearances. The current incumbent has been here all season and had never, as far as I can remember, started at LB before.ForeverAddickted said:Marshall / Fosu werent even making the bench if I'm right?

It is what it is I suppose. Maybe Bowyer has finally decided Purrington isn't a championship left back.1 -

Not like this is an important game.0 -
Would hope so, there are probably games where I havent but when I've tried to select my subs I've always gone for two Defenders | two Midfielders | two Attackers where possibleCafc43v3r said:

Of course I'm not Lee Bowyer and he probably doesn't have that same opinion as me0
