I remember the game where he told Gallagher that if he went for a ball in the air, be prepared to run on if he won the header, which he did and Gallagher ran on and scored, brilliant, cannot remember which game,,,,,,,but I am sure there are many that will
Bonne needed to remain as Lyle's apprentice. Both ended up with different/similar ideas and are punching a bit now, without Pratley's creativity behind them!
QPR are struggling at the moment, thus he (as the recent and comparatively big money signing) is getting a lot of the flak
The "expected goal" stats for QPR on Tuesday were very low, so it's not as if he missed clear cut chances. Their failings were at the back, Dickie getting sent off and giving away a penalty, then a hilarious OG for Barbet.
The negativity about Bonne is getting a little over the top. I don't think he should be leading the line even in league one and I wouldn't want him to start too many games if he did end up playing for us again. That said he has enough about him to be effective as an impact sub and with the right partner he could be successful as a second striker.

Don't get all the hatred for Bonne. He was okay for us and we sold him for £2m.
A striker like Bonne needs service. He isn't the finished article but I haven't seen Bogle show anything that suggests we have upgraded. Early days in both cases though.

Bogle (and Aneke) have both held up the ball better than Bonne which has contributed to our run of wins and clean sheets. Bonne wasn’t doing that when he was here at the start of the season, while Washington also struggled in that role against Sunderland.
I don’t think we’ve created enough chances to properly judge Bogle yet. Once we can add Maddison and Gilbey to the midfield that should improve.
I was ambivalent about Bonne until his admission that his head had been turned by the idea of playing for QPR. Likewise Taylor until his tweet about his first day at big school. Both comments were derogatory and an insult to the club and its supporters.

Bogle hasn't scored yet but his physical presence causes problems for defenders and his movement was a part of Washington's goal. Bonne when not scoring provided approximately nothing else. Which again probably would change/improve with experience but as it stands I don't think we've missed him much.
If QPR offered him back to us on loan for further development (I know I know, but humour me) would you take him and would he be number one striker?
Am I really the only one who would take him? Not necessarily be number one - I'd rather have Chuks - but I think he'd look a lot better in this side compared to the one we had/were playing with when he was still here. Think he'd bag a few.

Notice Lockyer isn't getting the same stick. I think some are a little peeved he's gone because it appears we've got very little up top. I wasn't a huge fan, and we've all heard the stories of his agent being a bit of a prick, but I think the hate towards him is a bit strong

Not sure what QPR fans were expecting?
I guess the negativity is down to the fact that Bonne obviously thinks QPR are far bigger than Charlton. That might have been reasonable in the 70s but not historically and not now, despite the difference in current levels.

Yep. Our average home attendance last season was just shy of 17k, theirs was around 13k.
I don't get the hatred though. He wanted more money and didn't get on with Bowyer, they had more money to offer and a manager that was interested... So he left.
Washington's run and finish last night was something that Bonne could never do. Did he ever score a 1on1 for us?
Yep, away at Bristol City ........ broke down the left wing on his own, cut inside the flank of the box and fired it across the keeper and inside the far post.
Very well taken solo goal from a difficult angle as the keeper advanced.
My memory was him putting iit in an empty goal after the keeper got his position wrong? Still a great finish, but wasn't a true 1v1

Lockyer was almost universally rated by our fanbase last season. There were a lot of fans who thought Bonne was shite, a lot.
Some of the hate may be OTT, but I think most of us are just enjoying be proved right.
It's a difficult one. We benefit from the hold up play of Bogle, but we are in desperate need of a striker who gets into the right places to get shots off, and that's what Bonne is.
Madness the people who say they wouldn't have him back. At the very least he would be great for bringing him on to play alongside one of our target men when we are chasing a goal. The very least.
From what I have seen so far I would say Bogle is an improvement on Bonne.
His hold up play is better, his first touch is better and he brings a lot more physicality - bearing in mind he must be a bit rusty I have seen enough of him to be more encouraged that I probably ever did with Bonne. I also haven't seen Bogle do that weird "crab-run" thing Bonne did...
Bonne's second touch was usually a tackle and his finishing was not clinical enough.
He had lost interest in us and once we were offered the rumoured £2m I can imagine the whole sale process to no more than 3 or 4 seconds...once we stopped laughing.
Good luck to him but I suspect he is going to continue to get pelters from their fanbase online. His Mrs is going to be in a tailspin

They're in the Championship, we're in L1. Thus this season, they're bigger than us

I agree, the Lockyer thread hardly gets any comments. He left us for the mighty Luton, exercising a clause so that we got nothing.

Proved right? The blokes been there 5 minutes.( And scored)
If 5 minutes is the litmus test then I think we can safely put Bogle in the same category.

Bogle does more around the park, in my opinion. He's been brought in to hold the ball up, and link up with other attacking options, something that Bonne was pretty dire at.
QPR fans seem to be in agreement with us, he's not Championship quality.

You're right, his primary reason for signing was to hold the ball up. Bowyer: "he brings us something we've been missing and that's his physicality, to hold the ball up and be a presence up top, he's good at everything, his all round game as a striker is excellent"
Except the striking bit...
FWIW I think Bogle will come good, he's got into good positions and it's just that bit of composure missing.
When he gets his first I am sure he'll score plenty.
I don't get why so many people have chips on their shoulders about players leaving us. Doughty is the only player in our current line up who hasn't come from another club. That is the way of the world now. There is no loyalty simply because clubs can't afford to offer the security of long term contracts and whether we like it or not the likes of Taylor and Bonne are playing for clubs at a higher level.
We have been equally guilty, in the past where we have been the "bigger" club, of "stealing" players for next to nothing, But that was OK because it was us doing the "stealing". We got £2m for Bonne and it is possible that we were the ones who committed the crime in selling dodgy goods! Equally, what's he meant to say on joining his new club " I really didn't want to leave Charlton but they thought they would cash in on me even though I'm not worth that much!!!"
Bonne is only getting stick because of the "big club/head turned" comments (which to be fair to him he has apologised for/walked back somewhat.) Lockyer doesn't get the same because he simply exercised a clause we agreed to include and went about his move with no comment.

It’s already been explained that it’s the shitty comments that give people negative memories of players.

Washington however has 3 in 8 and as such is a capable player in that role. (Converts to 17 goals over a season)
