  • Clearly a lot of factors why we are league 1 and not championship
Not all on Bonne's shoulders, the team is 50% defense and we had
our fair share of cock ups there, so best of luck Maca, and thanks
    for your contribution  :)
  • “He [Bowyer] had his methods and in a way it worked. In the moment when he is screaming and shouting I thought ‘he hates me and it must be something personal."

Not sure if that's complimentary of Bows or not ha ha.

Back handed compliment. Bonne is telling us he didn't like it, wasn't sure he could handle it at the time - and that it was tough for him.

But he's also recognising that he's only become a £2m striker scoring goals in the Championship because Bowyer pushed him hard.
And that on the day of the QPR transfer, Bowyer phoned him up to tell him he's a better player because of it.

  • Many differing opinions on Bonne's ability but don't think anyone could knock his effort. He was always a work in progress and now he has gone, I wish him all the best.

I forgot he's followed in Pritchard's footsteps into the Zimbabwe side!

EDIT: Pritchard never made it off the bench for Zimbabwe :'(
  • Just taking a chance in a game, doesn't automatically win you the rest of the game!
Remember, we have a unique ability to concede whenever we fancy.
  • “I should’ve scored more goals – that’s what kills me. I got 11 and I could’ve finished on 15. But if I had taken all of them then I’d be in the Premier League. That’s why I’m not the finished article.

Exactly. Some people here have completely unrealistic expectations about how many chances a striker would be expected to put away
If my granny had bollox, she'd be my grandad.
  • Pleased with his apology over the head turn comment.

I think that it comes across clearly that he wasn't happy playing for Bowyer. Perhaps the stick Bowyer gave him was all part of his man management technique or he really didn't like Bonne? I have no problem with Bonne wanting to move on from a difficult work environment, been there and never want to do it again, hence self employed. Perhaps this might explain his failure to acknowledge the part Charlton have played in his fast development?

What I don't get is that Bonne clearly rates QPR as a much bigger club than us, its not just down to their league status. His explanation just doesn't make sense to me

Still, he is happy, QPR, Orient and us so good luck to him.

Didn't he say in one interview that he supported qpr as a youngster ?

As for the stick Bowyer gave him I thought it unfair. Not getting stick but saying it to the press, it should be kept within the club so not surprised he took the opportunity to leave to go & play for a manager who rated him so it worked out well for him, the club made a profit (Not 2 mill tho) but the team doesn't now have a striker worthy of the name.

If a player is being lazy or wilfully disobeying instructions, then I can understand public criticism as a final resort, but public criticism for honest mistakes to me is a dangerous strategy.

Either it suggests unreasonably high expectations, or alternatively if a player genuinely isn't good enough, it's not their fault
  • A great believer in playing at highest level possible so good luck to him. Will never forget Brum miss.

Before opening that article I knew Pratley would be one of them named.  I think he has the makings of a wonderful coach or manager in the future.

Ditto Pearce. Both are proper football people
  • Non league player and if he had taken one of many chances after lockdown we weren’t be in league one. They are welcome to him

  • Could be going through a similar pattern to what we saw a bit of here, he'd score then have a run of poor games and get slaughtered, then score and repeat.

Surprised they're playing him as much as they are, we only really played him because we were desperate

Now now come on lads surely you know how it works by now, your only allowed to come on here if Bonne scores so you can tell everyone else they know fuck all about football.

  • 1 in 4 1/2 for qpr
  • My favourite thing to do is search 'Bonne QPR' on twitter after each game.
No class the fella, glad to see him being found out for being hopeless in front of goal.

QPR, ratty ground with less room at the away end for the bar and walk way width together than my kitchen width, no leg room to sit down, terrible toilets, and the atmosphere of a library from home fans ,less support too and Bonne thinks they are bigger than us. Deluded twerp. Ground fitted onto a postage stamp of a piece of land.
Your description of Loftus Road (or whatever it's really called) is spot on, it doesn't count for a lot in Covid Season though as no on'e going to be in there. The one thing that does count, unfortunately, is that they are a division ahead of us. For the time being.
