  • Skybet were 10s before todays game
  • Went from 3/1 to 7/2 after that win.
After every win I’m doing £10 on promotion & £10 top 6. Looking good at the moment
  • Skybet have just shortened us from 12/1 into 10/1
  • Skybet have just shortened us from 12/1 into 10/1
Must of been that extra £50 I just stuck on us that got them quaking in their boots
  • Jeez well done lads who got on the 75!

Was there actually some market depth there? Stupid price

It was a rick and a price that Betfair Sportsbook offered which, one would suggest, was erroneously based on "skimming" the lay price (instead of the back price) on offer in the Exchange market e.g. 20 to back / 75 to lay. One would assume that their Bot would automatically shorten the price once a certain liability had been reached.

I just hope that Betfair don't scream "palpable error" if and when we win the League!
  • This years league could be quite close. We are seeing a bigger extreme between the better sides and poorer ones in terms of results. To me some some people are sounding too confident. However when you compare our odds to those of Peterborough, Sunderland and even Portsmouth they do still seem very generous.

I think if they were going to call palpable error they would have done so immediately. They can’t wait see if it comes in then call a Palp. However, I don’t think they laid it to much. I only got £30 EW BETFAIR and £5 EW Paddy. Be interested in who else got on and for how much..... ?

  • I would never put it past some bookmakers to "cry foul" after the event and if palpable error allows them not to pay out then they still might do it. And Betfair aren't the company now that they were when I worked for them from the outset of the invention of the Exchange up until they became a bookmaker too. Whether they would win at IBAS is another thing.
  • Best price 9s

Three away matches in a row. If anyone is thinking about punting, I would not leave it to late. If we win at Ipswich I think that will be the catalyst for us to be seen as the real deal.
  • I like the 11/2 top 2

Excluding play off matches, Charlton last 23 matches in league 1. 17 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats. 54 out of possible 69.

I get that I’m putting together statistics but that is an unbelievable record by Bowyer & Jacko.
  • Now 11s with skybet after going 9s earlier today.
    Bob's lot were 9s now 7s

They do what they want when they want because they know that the vast majority of people won’t bother taking them to the authorities after they do it.

The whole industry stinks and I’m glad I squeezed a few grand out of them through matched betting two or three years back. :-)

Our big title rivals Oxford and Swindon lost and Elf’s put his drinking money for the next year down on us and that £7.50 moved the market

Read back on the thread, thats just CL but looks like alot have got on semi early. I was on at 25/1 on Skybet £25 EW (total £50) dont normally do that sort of bet but looked too good for top 3 while we had just got sandgaard and was waiting on finances/players to be finalised

Bonne to be top League 1 scorer isn't doing quite so well though. Sums up Betfair's rick that you got 75/1 in the outright as against 80/1 on us being Champions and Bonne being top scorer albeit that the bets were placed at different times.

To be fair, outside the Premier League, the top goalscorer market is a bit of a landmine because anyone in the lower leagues scoring loads before Christmas invariably is a transfer target come the January window anyway.

I backed Adam Armstrong top goalscorer E/w in the championship. Nothing major but at 25/1 looks a good bet. Currently, top with 11. Looks primed to be bought as Blackburn are anywhere near promotion battle.

I have that much faith in Bowyer and the lads I reckon we will be joint favourites by the time we’ve finished against Ipswich. Somewhere around 9/2. If anyone is going to have a punt I would do it before Saturday before we drop again.

Side note, I’m a huge admirer of this Fleetwood team. Reckon that victory in the last match will be vital come end of the season. Fleetwood 12/1 to win the play offs. Think their good value to get on board with them to be near top 6 come May.

I dont really get the punt on playoffs, they are likely to be in it but will be one off us, Sunderland, Hull, Ipswich and we would all be slight faves. also you dont know who will be spending come January. All ifs and buts, but 12/1 is not value at this point in my opinion.

Id say top 2 will be us or Hull guessing now, but come January it will be clearer. Definitely think its in our hands to lose really, we have the squad and hopefully can still buy should we need it in january. We have picked up points earlier than expected with a newish squad so still value on us

I have backed us all the way down from 28/1 . . . Today I took another max daily punt £412 @ 15/2 on Skybet . . . Current investment £4600 total bets giving £1200 cash out return as of today  . . Will wait until Feb / March to decide whether to roll until the end . . In Bowyer we trust 👍👍
