Mistakes are forgivable because nobody means to make them. But not following instructions is a reason to be hauled off. I’ve read some of Bogles tweets (if they are his) and backed up by his performances it seems that LB had a job on his hands. Do what you’re told for the benefit of the team.
Will he start on Saturday?
Who knows. Personally rather get 60 minutes of quality from Chuks and then defend what we have. We simply cannot go behind in the game.
I'd be surprised if we gift as many goals on Saturday. Neither side is in great form.
Charlton have had one bad game in the last 9, winning 6 out of them. We are not in bad form.

I'll counter that with we've had 1 win in 3 & got 1 point out of the last 6. Our 6 game winning streak has hit the buffers & we are now on a downward spiral .
Only thing which is going Bogle way is that Aneke can’t play for 90 minutes. Still plenty of matches to be played between now and January, but I hope we are looking to strengthen that position.
I would be happy to be proved wrong but I think he will join that very long list of poor strikers we’ve had the club in the last 10 years.

We haven't looked great in the last couple of games especially in defence. Hopefully on Saturday the defence will be a bit tighter otherwise we will struggle.

You expect us to win every game? Are we on a downward spiral or have we lost one game in 9?
I don’t think Bogle is good enough and I hope we replace him in January. Having said that, we didn’t have many options and I can see what LB and SG were thinking - he had scored goals in the past, wasn’t too old and seems to have kept himself in decent shape. He’s just a lower league striker and not a good one imo. Someone said on here we’d spoken to Gestede but he wanted too much so Bogle was probably a back up. The social media team bigging him up got everyone’s expectations up too which didn’t help.
This is a novel one. When have the social media team not bigged up a signing, and why shouldn't they? Do you think things would have been better if they'd just Tweeted a picture of Bogle in the car park on his way in and barely acknowledged him coming through the door? Bogle's record was there for everyone to see, we knew what we were getting and I doubt a 15 second video showing him in a Charlton shirt has had any effect on anything

We're not playing well. Nobody expects us to win every game but given our recent defensive displays there are grounds for concern.
Lee builds the team around a solid defence but injuries have derailed that hence the downturn.
You can't simply keep repeating we've lost one game in 9 and pretend that our recent performances haven't dipped?

So whenever we go two games without a win it’s a “downward spiral”.
Even in a promotion season these “runs” (two games happen. If go a couple more games without winning then it’s a problem, but we could go on another winning run and it’ll turn out to be a blip.

I wasn't being "negatively selective" I was simply countering the "we've lost 1 in 9" post. As they say, there are lies, damn lies & statistics. That's why there are spin doctors in all walks of Government as you can use stats in the way it fits your narrative.
FWIW......and I think most of you already know, I've been saying from day 1 that we aren't good enough for promotion & have a bet that we would lose a certain amount of games by xmas (3 to go I I believe). With our recent good run I now don't think that will happen but I wouldn't be surprised if we only picked up a couple more win by xmas and will be outside the top 6 at that point.
Anyway.....I don't want to hijack a thread about our super duper striker.

You also bet with jimmymelrose that we wouldn't have more than 15 points after 12 games and we had 15 after 8. Will winning this offset your losses there? I really don't understand the mentality of someone who makes multiple bets about the football team they support doing badly. You must have been beside yourself with grief when we got promoted to the Premier League

If our next 9 games read w1 d2 l6 then it’s time to panic.
Bowyer being pretty brutal about Bogle's performance
Ultimately, he’s playing for his career as he’s not played regularly for anyone for years now. Needs games and goals. Effort and following instructions are the least he needs to do.
Bowyer being pretty brutal about Bogle's performance.
Not sure if there is much room left under the bus now that both Bogle and Maddison have been publicly shamed......or has Morgan been dragged back out after his recent good performances.

Well seeing that Morgan's performances are on the up I'd say Bowyer's methods work...
“I liked him first time around – not this time,” Holloway told Grimsby Live.
“I like people on their way up. What Grimsby Town got right about him is we took him when he wanted to become something.
Interesting comments by Grimsby manager on the possibility of re-signing Bogle this summer.
Omar was unemployed until October.
Ability aside ...... has he built a complacent or poor reputation for himself in football? Judging by Holloway's comments, something's not right.
A massive change in assessment from what LB said at the time of signing Bogle:
“He’s good at everything, his all-around game as a striker is really good and we’ll improve him, which we do with all our players. He will be a very good striker in this division."
LB saw something in Bogle that he liked. He believed that he was capable of producing that - and more. The same he thought of Maddison.
Bogle had previously been on loan at four different clubs, each for six month. He never started more than seven games at any of them and none of them wanted to sign him permanently.
Maddison told Peterborough he wouldn't sign a new contract and opted not to help Hull stay up after lockdown. By the end of the summer he was so desperate to find a club that he used social media to convey the message that all he wanted to do was to play football. He had to accept that Championship Clubs weren't banging on the door to sign him and that he would have to get over his dislike of southerners in joining us.
Actions speak louder than what players say in interviews and post on Instagram.

No quibble with your Bogle analysis ......... but with Maddison, that's not quite right that he "opted not to help Hull stay up after lockdown". He had no choice.
Maddison was only on loan at Hull, with his Peterborough contract expiring. Peterborough held his player registration, remember. And they were not extending his contract.
As the transfer window was closed, Maddison would not have been able to sign a contract for Hull either. At the resumption of football after lockdown, Hull dispensed with all their players out of contract on 30th June who wouldn't extend.
Maddison couldn't extend because his playing registration was held by Peterborough. So Hull dispensed with him also.

Hull City head coach Grant McCann says he only wants players “that are fully committed to the cause” after axing Eric Lichaj, Jackson Irvine, Stephen Kingsley and Marcus Maddison from his plans for the season's run-in.
Lichaj, Irvine and Kingsley have all failed to agree short-term contract extensions to extend their time at the KCOM Stadium by another month and will now leave as free agents on June 30.
Maddison has also opted against featuring in the Tigers’ nine remaining games ahead of formally leaving his parent club Peterborough United at the end of this month.
Former Hull City winger Marcus Maddison has opened up on his struggles since becoming a free agent.
The ex-Peterborough United attacker joined the Tigers in January on loan until the end of last season, with his deal being cut short ahead of the 26-year-old becoming a free agent at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
City did have the option to sign Maddison permanently, but after scoring once in seven appearances for the Tigers, Grant McCann’s side opted against a permanent deal for the winger, who has been linked with a number of Championship clubs.
Bogle would be better with a strike partner (which striker wouldn't?) but the modern way seems to be to have someone notionally playing behind the striker. It rarely seems to work like that though.
Bogle seems to be playing to soften up the opposition and occupy the minutes that Aneke is seemingly unable to achieve. Maybe the longer term plan is to slowly build up the stamina of Aneke to an extent where Bogle is reduced to cameos from the bench? I get the impression the management is so concerned about the fragility of Aneke that they daren't ask him to play for more than 60 mins (which in turn means the max you get in the next game is 30 mins). You can see their point; anyone watching that Plymouth game would have seen Aneke look great for 20 mins and then disappear completely. At least last night, Aneke WAS in the game for the 60 minutes he was on. That was encouraging and he does look like he's got a lot of great attributes.
At the moment, Bogle is looking like a Marcus Bent, Leon Best or Ricardo Vaz Te type of signing. Get someone in who at least has a bit of physical presence and experience of playing up front and any goals are a bonus....
I understand why you make the bolded comment but it is unfair in my opinion. Bogle has worked hard and not scored. The other three were Bertie Bigbolloxes who thought they were too good for a shitty little club like Charlton and slouched around accordingly.
If Chuks could play 90 Omar would be on the bench at best I agree but that is not the case so he has to play. I've said before he is a poor man's Leaburn and I think that remains the case. The potential is there for him to set up the likes of Maddison, Morgan or even Williams coming through from midfield and /or Washington or Smyth.
He has been with the Club a short while only and partnerships are still developing. I think he will contribute more soon and we need a little patience.
Fair enough, @Addick Addict ....... but there was still the issue that his Peterborough contract expired on 30th June - and only Peterborough could extend it, which they weren't going to do.
Hull only wanted players who would commit to extend their contracts beyond 30th June, which obviously Maddison was unable to do. You are right though that an existing loan player could be signed on a permanent contract, but Hull didn't offer Maddison one.
I've read somewhere else at the time, maybe from a Peterborough source? (can't remember now without searching) that there was a bit more to this story than Maddison 'opting' out. Maybe the Hull newspaper only wrote the angle that suited their story?
Anyway, I don't suppose either of us really care right now, do we?

Lichaj, Irvine and Kingsley have all failed to agree short-term contract extensions to extend their time at the KCOM Stadium by another month and will now leave as free agents on June 30.
Maddison has also opted against featuring in the Tigers’ nine remaining games ahead of formally leaving his parent club Peterborough United at the end of this month.I've since found this:

Former Hull City winger Marcus Maddison has opened up on his struggles since becoming a free agent.
The ex-Peterborough United attacker joined the Tigers in January on loan until the end of last season, with his deal being cut short ahead of the 26-year-old becoming a free agent at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
City did have the option to sign Maddison permanently, but after scoring once in seven appearances for the Tigers, Grant McCann’s side opted against a permanent deal for the winger, who has been linked with a number of Championship clubs.
