With Smyth gone, Bogle going and Washington injured, and with Aneke seemingly more than a bit fragile, does this potentially leave us a tad short up front with Schwartz still feeling his way in English football?

Stockley, Schwartz, Aneke and Washington is still pretty strong at this level. If there are other areas that need reinforcement more then something has to give.
I'd say we have to accept that it's a balancing act unfortunately, Schwartz looks like he's going to be fine (he could be on 2 or 3 goals already) and the wage cap means that incoming players means sales.
This signing suggests to me that Doncaster are nearly at the salary cap and need a josh Parker type signing to boost their squad.
Why else would they sign a striker who has a highest goal return of 4 in a season above league 2.
Bogle will be remembered by me in the same league as kandol, abbot and sodje! Now we have a new owner, I hope we never have to watch players in that bracket of talent level again.
yeah, yeah, I expect the he brings this to the team comments but ultimately, once you have taken off your Charlton tinted glasses, he just isn’t very good and his record above league 2 suggests that.
Seems a really odd one to me, not that we’ve got rid but Doncaster wanting him?
He's got decent attributes for a striker, it just hasn't happened for him here. On top of that, we signed him for free and are now desperate to get rid so that we can free up space on our wage bill. We don't have any transfer money to claw back so we'll move him on for nothing, and he was bouncing around looking for a club at the start of the season so he's likely not on much money with us. Doncaster can therefore get in a striker for no money and not have to pay him very much and just hope he does a bit better than he did for us. If he scores 5 goals for them I bet they'll be delighted.
Yes, the wages cap has made this a weird window. In any other year, we'd have kept him as 5th choice for 5 months rather than give him to a promotion rival (even if he's been ineffective for us)
The abuse he received from sections of the so called support was embarrassing and completely unjustified. Yes he was poor for the majority of the time, but no player should receive the abuse he did. You can never take away that he did try. The effort was there. The quality is what lacked.
It’s a good move for him, back up north and will be a different environment. Not every signing works out. This is one of them. This is also a consequence of the situation we were in, in the summer.
It frees up a nice bit of wage budget for us to bring in at least a couple more before the deadline.
Good luck to the lad. It used to be said that Jason Euell had an average first touch but the best second touch in football. In my view by contrast and weirdly, Omar has a good first touch but a not great second and third touch. If Darren Moore can get Omar to shovel the ball on quickly it might work. Good luck to him, he always tried and wouldn't hide.

Very well said. I could understand if he wasn't trying, but he simply wasn't good enough and that's not a valid reason for abuse. Personally think abuse on SM is cringe at its best and pathetic at its worst.
Good luck to Omar - and excellent news for CAFC. As well as freeing up space under the wage cap, you have to admire the animal cunning of our Trojan Horse approach in unloading him to a play-off rival.
That's Bonne and his temporary replacement gone in a few months combined!
I am certain Bonne would have scored at least the same as Washington by this point. Bit disappointed Bogle hasn't worked out, we can only hope Stockley doesn't also get a bit too comfortable as he's without competition too.

Agree 100%... the abuse is criminal especially in today’s world.. good luck Omar.
"The forward has been the primary striker target for Darren Moore during this window but securing his departure from Charlton has taken time".
Highly likely because we wanted to get a replacement in first which was Stockley hence the references to four strikers recently. How times have changed in that we lined up a replacement first. Interesting to see if someone now comes in for Smyth not necessarily as a winger.
Bit like Smyth , was signed in a hurry as we needed players for the new season . Again you can't fault his effort , unfortunately he just isn't good enough.
A really nasty aspect of this cap is that players get traded around more as chattel and less like people. You always want to see a player given a chance to show what they're about and who's to say that Omar wouldn't have hit some form and been a useful sub to bring on here and there as the season progresses. It's good for him if he gets a move and plays more but it's not nice having a non-loan player for 4 months and then him departing so quickly.

Ah that's not the question though. The question is would Bonne, Aneke and Washington have scored as many as Bogle, Aneke and Washington?
Personally I don't know but I suspect Aneke would have scored less as he wouldn't have come on as early. But anyway its all ifs and buts.
Comments
I think he will start to crop up in quite a few people's worst ever Charlton XI teams.

18 months deal so security for next season as well
