That's Bonne and his temporary replacement gone in a few months combined!
I am certain Bonne would have scored at least the same as Washington by this point.
Bit disappointed Bogle hasn't worked out, we can only hope Stockley doesn't also get a bit too comfortable as he's without competition too.
Ah that's not the question though. The question is would Bonne, Aneke and Washington have scored as many as Bogle, Aneke and Washington?

Personally I don't know but I suspect Aneke would have scored less as he wouldn't have come on as early.  But anyway its all ifs and buts.
  • Bogle now has a better chance of promotion , shame on us being below some of these clubs
  • Didnt work out but wish him nothing but the best.

Some of the abuse he got on social media from the "fans" was horrific.

For his own sake, I hope Darren Moore gets the best out of him except when they play us!!

Some of the comments his move is getting on social media shows what utter pricks some of our so called fans can be.
Football fans, sadly the loudest ones are often the scummiest and lowest in numbers.
  • A really nasty aspect of this cap is that players get traded around more as chattel and less like people. You always want to see a player given a chance to show what they're about and who's to say that Omar wouldn't have hit some form and been a useful sub to bring on here and there as the season progresses. It's good for him if he gets a move and plays more but it's not nice having a non-loan player for 4 months and then him departing so quickly.
Yes, it's the sort of thing that happened a lot in the early Roland years, players arriving then moving on very quickly.
  • He did his best, and I wish him the best, but it’s a strange bit of business from a Doncaster perspective.

It's a strange world where we've got rid of 2 players seen as dispensable and not really good enough and both have ended up at clubs doing better than us.

Pleased we've managed to move him on though, Stockley is definitely an upgrade.

I don't know ..... Bogle is competitive, strong and mobile, scored goals in his time.

Decent bit of squad cover from Donny's point of view, I reckon.
They'll think they can get him back more towards his best ..... and if they do, he'll be a bargain for them.

    Good luck to the lad.
It used to be said that Jason Euell had an average first touch but the best second touch in football.
In my view by contrast and weirdly, Omar has a good first touch but a not great second and third touch.
If Darren Moore can get Omar to shovel the ball on quickly it might work.
Good luck to him, he always tried and wouldn't hide.

If we are honest, he rarely had a second touch, let alone a third. He might have tried his best but it was nowhere near good enough and it's no surprise we have signed two strikers this window and he's moving on. I am really pleased he is at Doncaster.

Let's wait and see shall we, Bogle looked useful in his first few games and again when he replaced Aneke a few games back.
  • I notice that the OS has said about as little as possible about his transfer. There is more information from Doncaster's site & also from one of our local rags. Shame.

Anyone else find it strange that we are getting rid of players to our promotion rivals. Either Gallen & Bowyer are very astute or Accrington & Doncaster see something we don't. Time will tell I suppose................
  • So how much did we pay Donny to take him off our hands then?

Gallen has worked many wonders in his time at Charlton, but finding someone to take Bogle off of our hands is his crowning achievement!
I laughed out loud at this, despite my feeling a bit sorry for the player with his confidence so trashed.

  • Wish him all the best, we just know he will score against us.

You’d find a right angle in a circle sometimes 😂
  • In the right circumstances and under the right manager, Bogle could still be an effective striker .. I hope this move doesn't come back to bite us where it really hurts

We didn't have a say where Smyth went, he wasn't our player. I thought it was obvious QPR recalled him and sent him somewhere that he'll play more regularly.

With Bogle i too am surprised Doncaster wanted him, thought he'd get a bottom half league one club at best, but not sure we were in a situation to be too fussy about where he went, probably just grateful to get him off the wage bill that might then help us to get in someone else before the deadline.
  • If I could've picked 2 players to be replaced in our squad it would've been Bogle and Smyth. Bogle has been replaced, I now would like a replacement for Smyth too (not necessarily the same type, we do have Millar... but we'd be so one-paced without him I think a similar player may be good)

Oh, and a new CB as a bonus please.

    Bogle negotiated his release 👀

Wonder how much that cost us?

Don't wish Bogle any ill will but I'm pleased that we've managed to move him on. I think that LB/SG went for him as a last resort, believing he was mediocre, and then he underperformed even against those modest expectations.
Simply nowhere near good enough, glad to have got rid. Hopefully with his wages & whatever is left on the cap we can bring in someone who can improve the team. Too much to expect a CB I suppose ?

I was only kidding, feel a little bad as I’ve given him quite a lot of stick.

In fairness to Bogle I think his lack of success with us wasn’t for the want of trying and I wish him well in the rest of his career (unless that wellness conflicts with our interests!),
  • I think I'm one of the (very) few who didn't think he was anywhere near as bad as made out.

hope it works out for him

I agree and compared to some other strikers we've had over the years he was more than decent.
  • where’s he gone to ?
    Pot imo  ;)
Complete bollocks..  Doncaster  who are rubbish.
