Also I'm not saying he's better than Stockley ffs, ofc Stockley is much more dangerous in front of goal. But Bogle was pretty good at dropping deep, controlling the ball and laying it off. When we went on a good early season run he was a big part of it, even if he barely looked like scoring; he kept defenders occupied and generally looked to get involved in play

I notice none of you are arguing with my actual argument, just hurling rotten tomatoes. Cardiff signed the guy for a reason - he has a decent skill level
Bogle was often lazy and ponderous. Slow yet tricky. If he could find the work ethic at league one level he could have been a decent gamble.
He was not good enough for us and whilst I agree he could pass and bring a ball down better than Stockley, (I disagree on Aneke) he couldn't finish and tried ridiculous shots that rarely got on target, let alone bothered the keeper.
He wasn't a team player, he tried to dribble it all the way himself and at the end of the day was flogged to Doncaster and is now a League 2 player. He has found the level he can excel at.

Signed for his excellent goalscoring record pre-Wigan more than anything?
Though to be fair also praised for his all round game. Bowyer said similar when he came in.

For all the stick he gets, some of it justified, some of it OTT. He was no less effective than those that replaced him. Schwartz and Davison I would even include Burstow.

There's also a reason cardiff only played him 21 times between 2017-2020.

Burstow is 18 ffs. He is raw and low on confidence due to leading the line at the age of 18 for a team getting beat every week
burstow has enough about him for Chelsea to take a punt on him.
to say that burstow is no less effective than bogle is actually laughable.

Potential they are in a different ball park, even stratosphere, effectiveness isn't laughable.
What has Burstow actually done, not what could he potentially do?

What are their goals per minute ratio in a Charlton shirt?
Burstow is an 18 year old in his break through season, who despite being in a dry spell has around 5 in 20 in all competitions. Bogle as an experienced pro scored 2 in a similar number of games.
Bogle's biggest problem wasn't really lack of ability on the ball ...... but what was going on inside his head at Charlton. His lack of self-belief crippled him. The harder he tried the worse he got.
He got dogs abuse from the crowd that was killing him, it was plain to see. Mentally he was shot. Many people seem to forget that players have all the strengths, imperfections and frailties of being human.
Will keep saying it: he was never as bad as most people thought. His touch and hold-up play is a step-up on Stockley's (if not Aneke's)
Ludicrous. He would definitely be in the mix for our worst ever forward.
Worst player I have ever seen in our jersey. He didn't have any saving graces - he was slow, clumsy, unaware, no good in the air, no shot, poor first touch etc. I see he has averaged about three goals a season since 2016. Surprised he even got two for us. Don't think he knew much about them either.

In league games Bogle scored a goal every 375 minutes. 1 assist. The 18 league games Bogle featured in we netted 31 points, 1.73 PPG.
In league games Burstow has scored a goal every 325. No assist. The 15 league games Burstow featured in we netted 11 points, 0.73 PPG.
If you think I am suggesting that Bogle is in anyway shape or form better, or has more potential than, Burstow I suggest you reread what I wrote. Because that's not what I said.
This bloke must not ever bother unpacking his suitcase
It says he moved for a fee.
Was that meant as a general comment or a reply to mine?
By way of surprise because people say he is so bad and to you because you made it sound as if he was shoved on. A fee tends to suggest otherwise and Newport are a team who have competed at the top end of L2 recently.
No, it was a simple joke based on the fact he's had a lot of clubs. No other insinuations being made. Not fun when you have to explain them...
He wasn't great but if people think he was the worst player they'd seen in a Charlton shirt, who can forget Lepointe, Eggert Jonsson or any of the Matt Smiths?

I did manage to forget but now you e reminded me....thanks 😂

That is a success in my book.
