21' Doughty breaks forward for the Addicks but Hoskins is back to concede the corner. Forster-Caskey delivers from the left but there's a foul in the box for a Cobblers free-kick. #NTFC 0-0 #CAFC

Delivery overhit, and Innis gets done for a foul so the keeper takes the free kick.

The number of times when we have a corner and everyone piles in on the front post while the ball is sent to the back post.

Exactly so the ball is going further than we want it to

Northampton on the other hand have it nicely hanging for them
That's what I don't understand, some of these balls have been so over-cooked.

    This pitch is terrible though

Starting to get a little into this now. Got to get Williams on the ball somehow.

Good ball by Smyth into the area, but it's headed clear into touch so Smyth's going to use his long throw.

When we do get the ball on the ground in their half, we look alright

Not a fan of this midfield at all.
Difficult with Northampton stopping the defence from getting the ball to the midfield in the first place - they're doing well for me as Bogle is being left isolated so even when he wins the ball, the second one gets picked up by one of their player
All three of them are too similar. We need Maddison and one of Pratley/Watson on the pitch to try and better link the play between Bogle and the defence.

There's some shenanigans in the area, so eventually Smyth went short instead, and the ball's ended up back with Amos.

Slow start but warming up a bit now.

Not watching the game but after seeing that midfield I knew we could be in trouble. Too lightweight and especially so in these type of conditions.

Blimey can somebody please gag Keith Cutle.

Offside, Northampton Town. Cian Bolger tries a through ball, but Ricky Korboa is caught offside.

Northampton long throw into the box, but one of their forwards gets done for offside.

Great save that again from Amos. Even if it was offside.

26' Good pressure from Rose forces Inniss to clear for a throw-in by the corner. Horsfall's throw comes into the box and is headed down for Korboa but he's flagged offside. #NTFC 0-0 #CAFC

    Another cracking save from Amos.

The player was offside so it wouldn't have counted anyway but Big Ben wasn't to know.

We're growing into this game, but our midfield has been anonymous. We've looked a lot more comfortable with the ball on the ground in Northamptons half

I don't think Inniss has much of a left foot
  • Options
    Too many midfielders ineffective.

Very lightweight in the middle. They are heavyweights. Seems to be crying out for a Watson or a Pratley.

Weirdly ref blows up but then gives us a drop ball?

30' Half an hour played here. The Addicks struggling to find their feet, so far. Watch live: http://live.cafc.co.uk #ntfc 0 #cafc 0

Not sure if this counts as a Premier League spoiler but Lookman is apparently playing well so far against the stripey Nigels.
