Another excellent win.
My only concern is, Bowyer has managed to knit a team together in such a short space of time with impressive results.
Last season he was offered a couple of jobs and it won't go unnoticed that he has arguably surpassed his previous achievements.
Thomas Sandgaard may find himself fighting off admirers of our brilliant manager.0 -

I've not seen anyone comment, but the way that Ched Evans "caught" the ball on his foot, wrong footing Inniss before scoring the first goal was sublime.9

There are parts of his game he needs to work on and he needs to find those qualities if he is going to get into the team. That is probably why Man Utd sent him to us. Morgan has similarities and I know it is early days but his performance against Brighton made me sit up and take notice. There is a decent chance Man Utd would prefer he wasn't a shoo in into the team.
Sandgaard should learn from Duchatelet's mistakes. Get Aneke and Morgan signed up on new deals a.s.a.p.
IMO that's a very decent contract for a lad though talented, has still to prove himself.
For now that's sufficient security for the player; and for the club.

I see that WANKER Joey Barton
is saying his team are a far better team than us.
i note BOWS did not make any comment.
Barton is at least consistent He’s been a WANKER
Gobshite all his adult life 😂😂👍👍👍

I'm convinced this is the best balanced squad we have had for years. Now both Morgan who was excellent and Purrington, who had his best game for a year, have joined the party. No weak links.
It's impossible to pick a 1st 11 and no need because with our squad Bowyer will rotate until the end of season.
The downside to rotation is we will have times like yesterday when we become ragged as the personal and the formation change during a match. It's a strength and a weakness: fresh legs being the main advantage.
And that 'strongest team' unchanged won't develop into a tight consistent unit, in the way that legendary teams have done in the past.
Rotation, of course, is a squad game and keeps a 1st team fresh and energised.
It also keeps most of the squad involved, rather than players feeling frustrated at not getting a game - they'll know they play in turn.
But part of me still hankers for the old way ....... when the manager picked his strongest XI, and players fought to keep the shirt.
And only injury disrupted an unchanged winning side.
What do I know? We've just won 6 consecutive games with rotation.
I guess Bow is the Pro with his finger on the pulse!

To be fair I don't think he said anything wrong. he does overlook the first 30 minutes when we was well on top but apart from that he is correct they did have more of the ball than us and looked a threat and I don't think we could of complained if it was a draw.
He has praised us saying we are a good team, we defended really well and will do really well this year.

Morgan was brought down from behind and was breaking through 1-on-1 with the keeper.
Maybe the defender was lucky not to be red carded?
Wisdom with hindsight, of course.

Maybe there is a place for Levitt this season but I'm not sure I see him getting in the team over Shinnie, Gilbey, JFC if two of those three are fit - Bowyer indicated that last night that even when two of them are out, he'd rather play a different midfielder. He certainly won't be trusted to play the Pratley/Watson role so I struggle to see where he regularly features.0

Chuks and Bogle to end up with around 10 each and Smyth to pop up with 5 but many assists.
With Maddison to add to the goal threat, I'm nursing a semi.

The penalty last night was just a clumsy challenge, would be incredibly harsh to send the defender off for a professional foul there and it certainly wasn't a dangerous, violent or reckless challenge deserving of a straight red.2 -
Morgan was never getting to the ball again even without the foul. But it was a skillfully-won penalty. Part of the game7

That was a penalty from a confident striker. Keeper was never going to stop that.2
