Think it goes a bit deeper with Bowyer though - Charlton isn’t just a job to him, it’s more than that.

  • I actually rate Billic as a really good manager. Personally reckon he will still be WBA come end of the season.

Personally I don;t think he will go as he has everything he wants here and is getting the full support from Thomas, Gallen etc etc and the potential. Also he could go to West Brom and get sacked i a yer. He has stability here. Normally owners come in and have habitat of changing their Manager.  I would imagine that also counts a lot with Bowyer. He has got time and to rebuild here in a special way like Curbs was. I would imagine he would like to emulate Curbs. If he does go, then good luck to him and would thank him for keeping this club and players and fans together. Unlike 12 months ago as someone said earlier this would be a great job for someone to come in and take on the job. Would someone like Eddie Howe come in and take on the job (remember he was interviewed before Powell)?,  I am sure our Ged would help Thomas with that.  There are a lot of good managers out there.  However, that;s for another day. Bows is here to stay.
  • Can't see him going to WBA with an absentee owner that's seemingly lost interest. They'll go for one of the usual suspects like Hughes or maybe Pearson.
  • If WBA decide they need a new manager, then a 42 year old with Premier experience is available: Eddie Howe has 12 years experience from having an embargo in League 2, to the success of taking Bournemouth to the Premier and keeping the smallest supported club in the highest division for several years.

Two poor seasons out of 12 is an amazing record. One mediocre season at Burnley when they finished 13th in the Championship(he also finished 8th but missed the south coast) and last season at Bournemouth where the new signings didn't work and injuries to the long standing players, Francis and Daniels affected the Balance in the team.
Fraser and Wilson became unsettled and Eddie Howe was never going to set the cherries up in a Tony Pulis formation.

I have utter respect for Howe in that he used Yann kermogant as a number 10 and not as a battering ram, with balls played to his feet with the younger legs running off him. The 3-0 masterclass against Cafc at the valley was a great example of this.

I hope Lee Bowyer stays but if he was ever offered a premier job(he does need to be offered the job not just speculation) and accepts, I'd hope Howe would be available and would see the potential under Thomas Sandgaard.
  • I thought Eddie Howe was favourites for Neil Lennon job when he gets the tin can from that club in Glasgow.
