It puzzles me why people are so obsessed with bringing Floyd and Harvey back, when they were just generic mascots anyway with no connection to us.
No connection to you maybe.
But my whole life supporting Charlton it was always Floyd and Harvey.
I cant stand these new mascots because to me, Floyd and Harvey are Charlton mascots and always will be, when we lost them it felt like part of our club had died and bringing them back will be a massive revival
Also Sir Valiant and Cocaine Robin don't look nearly as good.
Great to see such positivity from our new owner - Gives belief that the club really is in safe hands. The 2000 at the valley on Saturday need to show our appreciation to him as he deserves it

Now now... Floyd Road and Harvey Gardens, but a dog and a cat is better than a slab of tarmac and a bloke wearing some astroturf with a flower pot on his head.
The animals have no connection to us. You could have a fridge and a kangaroo named Floyd and Harvey and it would have just as much relevance
The current mascots aren't great but at least they do have some connection to our history, and previous nicknames
But how long were the cat and dog our mascots for?
That makes them connected to us.
How many people on here feel more of a connection to Floyd and Harvey because of their childhood or because of the prem years than Sor Valiant or Robin who we have had for a couple of years now.
Add to that my daughter was almost called Harvey Floyd because of Floyd and Harvey(when we had a scan we were told she was a he lol, and somehow I got Kelly to agree to that name) then next scan we got told he was actually a she and that obviously changed
The animals have no connection!? Sacrilege! Floyd (or Harvey) was a cat. We used to have a club cat called 'Lucky'. And Cats and Robins go together! Until the cat eats the Robin obvs.
When you login to a Zoom call and the owner of your football club is playing his electric guitar, you know this is going to be a winner.
His vision of correcting so many basics is so reassuring.
We have been treated like an inconvenience and waste of time for so long. Now we have an owner who openly admitted this has been a positive on his health because its exciting and wants to get things right in all aspects.
I hope as many fans as possible see this and want to get through the doors and pack out the valley. He deserves it and we deserve it.
Great news that Bows and the wider management team is going to be a part of our future for a very long time. He does not let negativity deflect him from his objectives and he will get us to where he wants us. He will obviously hit his short term targets by himself, but is still talking to other financial backers that have shown interest. Barclay and Muir included. Barclay seems to be a strong link. Such a well organised event, about 450 odd in attendance.
He wants to build us globally as well and wants all Charlton fans to get people interested in our club. Over to us I guess.
I joined in at the end of the interview, tried to see if i could watch it from the start, couldnt figure out how to do that, is there a replay somehow, can someone explain this to me as i am not very good with computers, thanks.
Great event. So reassuring to have an owner who is focused on addressing just about every critical aspect of our club. His vision, passion and drive really came across tonight and he didn’t need to be over animated or excitable to convey that.

I'm pretty sure you can't rewind zoom calls when they're happening
You can record them though, so as long as it was recorded by someone, they will be able to replay it

Really good event, Thomas was super positive and really gets the club. This isn’t a short term thing for him and although he doesn’t have all the pieces of the puzzle aligned its reassuring he has a plan and intends to see it through with the fans core to that

Hi RedJohn,
The session was recorded and will be released by the club shortly I believe.

I got the impression from him re. The financial backers that the Turkish group were also still keen and had been in contact, based on their continued social media presence as well
It seems that for all his grand plans and high hopes, Sandgaard has quite correctly come to the conclusion the best start is just to get right down to the absolute basics and get the day to day nuts and bolts stuff right, build a foundation to create from.
It's a little depressing how long it's been since we had any owner with a fraction of that common sense and logic but onwards and upwards we go.

But surely the mascots weren't the biggest take from tonight?
Await a full write up
I knew if I kept asking.
That makes them connected to us.

I think Weegie mentioned making the recording available in due course

And when Chris Powell flew out of the tunnel with Harvey's head on.
Whilst I don't much like Cocaine Robin... I don't hate Sir Valiant.
Anyway my note taking was awful during that as I was in a heated discussion with TalkTalk as they're wankers. That is all.

Yes. GLOBAL!
Think of everything these CAST people.🙂

SUCH positivity, creativity and every other ivity in the dictionary.
Over 50% of his time spent on our club and asked " Would you call yourself a fan or an owner now " to which he answered " I am Charlton".
Bless his cotton socks !

Sorry, wrong thread.
