Why is that the club are saying that if you cannot make the game you cannot instead use your season ticket ca f c cash to stream the game. The club will not loose any money that way.
Exactly...one big problem if they keep it from the trial is being in the ground 90 minutes before ko. Working people can't make 5. 30 pm for 7.00 pm ko. Older people don't sit in the cold for such long periods either with no recourse to warming up on the concourse at half time. Not only do you loose the CAFC cash, when you tell them they then have the right to sell the seat on again. I don't mind that but blocking my CAFC money and making me pay £10 to stream direct is simply unfair.
The email doesn’t stipulate what time you have to be there or how long you will be held back . I would say that’s quite important information as I don’t want to be leaving the ground a silly o’clock and not being able to get a train back to Bedfordshire.
At the Donny game they let supporters out of the West Stand starting with the blocks nearest to the Jimmy Seed stand if that helps.
Let's remember that millions of people have lost their jobs and livelihoods in the last year. Many thousands will probably lose their homes and their families eventually.
Most of them do not worry about Covid - it is no more dangerous for them than driving to work or drinking half a bottle of wine every day.
They have made these sacrifices to protect vulnerable people.
Squabbling about losing a few quid because of not being able to attend a football match which has been arranged with a few days notice seems a bit petty in the circumstances.
So I am guessing those that have missed out this time will automatically get a ticket for the AFC game if there are more then 860 people living in tier3 and opting out?
Meaning of you have MK Dons you will get Bristol Rovers and the others AFC and Plymouth?
Hard to say but it would make sense to offer each group a weekday and Saturday game each. Who knows, by time opt out opt in system is done perhaps everyone who wants to go to each game will be able to
The club statement was
The club has 4,861 season-ticket holders for the 2020/21 season and will run a ballot to determine who will gain entry to Wednesday’s game, which will now kick-off at 7.45pm. For upcoming games the ballots will work on a rotation system, so any season-ticket holder who doesn't get a place for Wednesday's game will be in prime position for the ballot for the following game at The Valley.
Reading this if there are 861 opt outs /tier3 fans the next 2000 or number remaining will get a ticket for AFC and then if there are any left people going Wednesday will be put in and those successful will be left out of Bristol Rovers draw where the remaining who missed AFC will get Bristol Rovers and those from AFC will be drawn for any left.
Sounds confusing but seems pretty straight forward.
Be interesting to see how many fans opt out. To be clear it’s totally there choice and I understand any one who doesn’t want to go in the current situation and with the restrictions in place
The entry time is printed on my ticket it is 6pm for me.
I attended the trial match v Doncaster, and the entry time then was way before kick off. There was a lot of waiting to do, and supervised queueing, then small groups escorted to turnstile, temperature check before going to turnstiles. The thermometer was a wand thing held close to your forehead....
This is NOT a criticism per se but most of the questions/complaints from Lifers today could have been foreseen & discussed over the period of time Bob Munro indicated since clubs were made aware of the upcoming situation.
We also knew that the DA postcodes would cause problems ( see BFG94's post above) but some stated this would be dealt with....How many other Kent residents will be offered tickets and decide not to query it ?
Then we hear that under 18s/younger children have been offered a ticket but NOT the adult in the same household.
My fear is that this is going to be a fiasco and may well have implications on the forthcoming matches which those of us missing out on Weds evening will suffer....
Well done to CAST for endeavouring to indicate the problematical areas of the issue but sadly, I think the horse had already bolted.
Just received two emails about successfully being chosen. As I'm diabetic I sent the ticket office an email declining their offer and proof and want to opt out for the time being.
Got a reply from the ticket office asking for my fan ID, pretty quick reply from them.
Also just got a text saying I'd got a ticket or to text 87800 Addicks Stop to opt out.

I mean the subject of pretty much every thread on this site apart from the Coronavirus thread is “petty” by comparison.

Nah the Marcus Maddison thread is addressing all the pressing issues of our age. Not even really joking

I think the “opt out” they are referring to is to opt out of receiving automated texts rather than opt out of the ballot, unfortunate terminology.

Well done to the club for trying to make it work at such short notice.
As someone who has missed only a dozen home games since the mid 1960s, and been a season ticket holder since 1974, I want to be there Wednesday as I do for every game.
For good reason many won’t want / be able to use their ticket if they win in the ballot. It would be great if those people could email the club immediately so there is a chance the club could then offer it to someone else.
I’m leaving it as late as possible to order my stream in the hope I get a message from the club offering me a ticket. I can get to The Valley at short notice.
But the club will be racing against time to get everything ready, so there’ll be no criticism from me. Even if the crowd is well below 2,000.
Good luck to all those involved.
Given your attendance over the years it would be a shame if you did not get in. I'd still go on the off chance of getting a ticket.
Elfsborg, you are welcome to my seat until it is safe for me to go...I just object to the club saying it is safe thereforvif I don't go I loose my CAFC money. I never saw that stunt coming.
You cannot give your seat to someone else if you read the rules. You need to bring photo ID (at least you did for the trial game).

It's quite simply staggering that someone chose to purchase a season ticket in a pandemic, that is the worst in all of our lives and is then outraged at the possibility that they may be allowed to attend and instead demands a refund.
I wonder how many ticket agencies would refund me, if I bought tickets for 20 different gigs today and then next week I contact the venues and say I can't attend due to Covid & my age & health?
I think the answer may be less than 1.
But the club needed the money and chose to sell them to fans. So are the club in the wrong for selling them or fans who bought them hoping to be able to go and watch them?
Neither, I don't think you understood my post you have quoted. Fans who bought them that don't want to go and be refunded are my point. Why buy something if you don't want it, but you do want a refund? Perhaps they did not understand what a pandemic is?
I bought one as I want to go to football, i don't have no issue with going. So I do understand thanks.
I did not know you spoke for all the season tickets holder?
Not 1 person knew how long this would go on for did they? People where probably hoping it would not last this long but it has gone for a lot longer than I would like i know that. Like I said I have work all the way throughout this like many other people have.
I want to unwind and enjoy going to football with my dad. So sorry it upsets you that I bought a season ticket
I hope you get in and enjoy it. My experience of the trial is that having to get in 90 minutes before the start as we did in September when cases were much much lower will not be a happy experience. I had a fellow just 2 ft away from me behind and to my right. My friend who was in my 'bubble' was 7 ft away.
I believe Dave said he is in Tier 3and not permitted to attend under government rules.
I got "lucky" so will give it a go. Ko 7.45 gates open 90 mins beforehand, my tkt says entry 6.00.. so i have to enter 15 mins before gates open. Over the fence it is then, but im not as sprightly as i was aged 14.

Anybody had an email to say they are NOT successful?
