Tough game but also one I think we can get something from. 1-1. I think we might go in front but be pegged back. We need to get something from this one. Peterborough look decent but are also capable of a wobble. Aneke & Bogle would be interesting and give them some problems. They may have to adapt their game if this happens. COYRs.

So if you catch the ball but are travelling backwards you can’t be ruled out of bounds? I didn’t think it’s ever possible to learn all the rules of this sport!

I think Bowyer sees what we see with Pearce? He really is there for the taking these days and quite easy to bully if you are either bigger or faster than him.

Sadly, I see Pearcey as this season's Solly IYKWIM.

Captain & revered defender BUT, as happens to us all, past his best....

And it's our best players that we SO need for the remainder of the season if we have promotion as our goal.

Still think Jason will come in if we're hit by further defensive injuries, but see him more as a stalwart to encourage & help the younger guys at SL and in the dressing room.

No way would I change the defence from Rovers, certainly not by taking Matthews out. He’s our best full back imo and must stay in that back four. Gunter to have a rest.

I'm worried about this one. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 formation because I don't think our defence with the injuries etc is capable of handling their front three. Let's not sugar cost the clean sheet on Saturday as Bristol Rovers are a poor poor team!
Aneke needs a rest otherwise we risk him breaking down. Pratley needs to come into the midfield because he's probably our best at breaking things up in there and I can't see Famewo starting after so long out. I'd go with the below:

    Amos
    Matthews Gunter Deji Pearce Maatsen
    Millar Gilbey Pratley JFC Williams
    Bogle

I'd allow Williams a free role in the final third with Maatsen overlapping. Millar needs to get in behind and JFC has to get forward to create. Bogle needs to hold up the ball, win flick ons and bring the others into play.

It's either this or go toe to toe with them and probably concede three or four.

Not sure the ref will allow us 12 players but I get what you’re saying!

I've actually written a 12 man team there!
It was early & I was tired LOL. Take Gilbey out of the midfield as I feel Pratley needs to be in there and JFC is playing well. Aneke will need a rest after his game load the past week & I doubt Schwartz is ready to start after hardly any game time this season. That leaves Bogle & Washington and I feel this is the sort of game where Bogles physicality may help us. We have a good little run of Bogle starting then Aneke scoring off the bench. For me Pearce starts ahead of Famewo purley because he's been out for so long.

Bogle playing as a loan striker is exactly what Peterborough will be praying for.
  • Some on here with short memories - Gilbey has been consistently terrible; Bogle was dreadful against Hull and while his hold up play on Saturday was slightly better, he missed 2 sitters. Neither should be starting, for me.

It's all a matter of opinions. I think if we play the same way we did on Saturday we will get beat as we aren't great defensively at the moment. Posh play three at the back according to the review, my plan would be to stifle their attack in numbers hence the 5 man defence and attack on the break with Bogle holding up and Millar, Williams, JFC supporting with overlaps from the wingbacks. Millar is the key to this with his defensive duties being minimum and him being the man with his pace to drive us forward.

I feel if we go toe to toe and play an open attacking game they will pick us apart.

I’d play the same formation as Rovers. Why change it AGAIN?!

This season has been characterised by total inconsistency. For once we found a forumla that brought a clean sheet and a goal.

I’d go with the same set up again. We’re playing Peterborough not Real Madrid.

I think it would be pretty nieve to treat each game/team as the same. Plus we aren't actually that good this season so we have to line up accordingly. In our promotion season the team pretty much picked itself because we were out playing teams but even then LB would switch to a back five at times

There is nieve and there is showing teams far to much respect.

We aren't actually that good?  Can you please tell which players aren't good?  There are a number of players that aren't performing but that's different.

This squad, has far more depth and experience than the one 2 years ago.  Admittedly that one had 2 or 3 players better than what we have now, but some like Bielik we are judging on hindsight.

The likes of Reeves, Marshall, Lapslie, Parker, Ajose, Ward, Solly and Hackett-Fairchild all played a significant number of games that season.

If we play well, with round pegs in round holes, we will win far more games than we don't.  Including against the likes of Peterborough.

By accident or design Bowyer has final found a combination that works, and can be improved on.

Same team, baring injuries or suspension, not 4 or 5 personal or positional changes every game.

    This totally.

Bowyer needs to pick a formation and stick to it for the next few games at least. Get some consistency into the team and let the players know what they are supposed to be doing instead of constantly chopping and changing.

Prior to Saturday, Bowyer had played 4 completely different formations in the previous 4 games. That didn't work out too well.

Same backline for me from Saturday. . . If a change then Famewo in . . . Pearce not up to it anymore unfortunately. . .
Midfield: Shinnie in for Morgan along side JFC . . . Leave Pratley on the bench. . . Millar & JW out wide . . .
up top I would start with Bogle & Washington then Chucks & Schwartz on with 30/35 to play . . .
Will defo be happy with a draw from this one . . .

    Oshilaja, Pratley, Pearce
    Gunter, Gilbey, JFC, Maatsen
    Washington, Schwartz, Millar

Will have to be a 532 on occasions that’s for sure but it’s certainly good Pratley is back for this he perhaps needed that rest.  Schwartz has gotta be thrown in at some point and I think this could be it, big game for Gilbey, we all know he’s been lacklustre to say the least and if he’s got any balls he will use this to come out fighting.

I don’t think we’ll win but I fancy us to keep the spirit going from Saturday, 1-1 Schwartz to put us 1 up first half.

So the mention of Famewo being back for this game was a bit of a blag. Shame, means we will definitely be seeing our solid as halloumi captain again.

Too much respect? I think they're better then us in our current state hence why I feel the need for five at the back.

I don't see how you can say we've found a combination that works after a 4-4 draw against a average league 1 team and a 1-0 win against a extremely poor league 1 team.

I agree Bowyer has tinkered too much this season but again he hasn't had the best of luck with injuries or suspensions. Starting Aneke wouldn't be wise because we know he has fitness problems. Similar with JFC but Aneke seems more fragile. I'm also not writing Pearce off just yet. Yes he's been poor recently but I still think he's finding his feet after injury .
