Saw a few of Ben fosters youtube videos. For an away game at night game watford stay in a hotel the night before which i thought was a bit over kill. They even stay in hotels the night before for home games which is ridiculous.  Wonder if our team has such luxuries since Thomas took over?

edit: should probably be a seperate topic

I’m not so willing to write Pearce off as some are and totally understand it he’s been a bit junk but he’s a league one battler who’s been promoted with us and Wigan .
Pearce plays we have a better chance than if Gunter or Pratley play at centre half .
Cant see us winning , nick a draw at best
    Desmond it is
Not writing him off, it was after all only just over a year ago he had that excellent game away at the Cottage battling again Mitrovic.

But, he hasn't looked the same since his injury at the start of the season. He's been (even) slower which has forced him to sit deeper and get more handsy. Essentially exaggerating his weaknesses. He is very much 4th choice of 4 for me at the moment. Deji has looked good since he came in and at least has some recovery pace and allows us to play a higher line.

Would still have him ahead of Gunter or Pratley tho.

Game must be in doubt as Peterborough is on an a amber warning.
At the moment there's no rain here in Peterborough although it's very cloudy.
  • Peterborough away last time round (18/19 promotion season) was on of those away games that randomly gains momentum amongst fans and there was a big away following (at least it felt like that's how it happened). Ended up as a pretty disappointing match dull 0-0. Grants last game for us and he missed that pen in front of the away fans.

Steve Evans was sacked by them shortly after as a 0-0 draw with promotion chasing Charlton wasn't good enough...
  • The referee tonight has produced 7 red cards in 18 games. Seems to be the highest in the league. Doesn't bode well with our disciplinary record.
  • only just clocked that the game kicks off at 6.30pm !!
What is with all these random KO times?

    Pratley starts.

Pratley doesn't make it to FT.

Albie returns for the next one.

Interesting to see who gets sent off. I think Pearce might be up for it but agree Pratley is a good candidate.

Surely they should give someone else a go

    What if both go!

P'Boro 0-3 As Charlton win with 9 men.

And it is almost a given that someone will be sent off. We have a reputation now, which I doubt has escaped the notice of our ref tonight, and indeed all the refs who may officiate at our matches in the coming weeks. That sort of reputation is easy to get and difficult to shake. Bowyer almost needs to decide now how he will reshape the team when we go down to 10 (and it may be worth thinking about when we go down to 9!).
  • I think it will come down to a few things but if they push us back and we don't have an outlet I can see us losing 2 or 3 nil. If we can maintain an attacking threat and our defence is not suicidal, this is a winnable game.
  • If there ever was a game with goals written all over it then it must be this one. I really hope LB doesnt set up ultra defensive as we all know that wont work and we will lose. If we maintain our attacking threat it could be a 4-3 or 3-2 to either team

We have 5 or 6 players who permanent live in the referees book. Aneke, Deji, Pratley, Pearce. Throw in the likes of Gilbey and Amos  (if we are winning by a goal).

40+ booking points is almost a banker most weeks.
  • who's bloody bright idea was it to put the game on at half 6??!

Probably Posh. It may not be a bad thing as storm Christoph is raging in about that time and they seem to be in the amber zone. This and the fact the pitch is not in the best condition as it is.

Also it allows me to watch most of the Leicester  v Chelsea game  after :)
  • pisses my evening up a bit as i have to cook for two other people and i usually have it ready for 7 which for a 7pm ko is fine. even better if they went back to 7.45 cos by then i've done the dishes and got myself a beer.

Schwartz to start. He's had 45 minutes in the past 2 games

Edit maybe not at the weekend
  • Clarke-Harris will be the difference in this one as their strike force is gathering pace. 3-1 Peterborough, another team just too good for us at the moment.
  • I think we will lose tonight (if it isn't called off) but I just hope we set up to at least try to beat them, we are a fair better side going forward than at the back so hope we try to play to our strengths. COYRs.

If we play them with a settled defence we have a much better chance. But we do have a chance. For me, it is key to build on the recent consistency of selection and try to impose ourselves onto them.
