Had my first vaccine today, so far so good. Oddly when I got home I had an email and text saying my second booked appointment has been cancelled and to re book.

has anyone had similar? I rang 119 but they can’t help me until tomorrow now as waiting system update from today’s appointments.

Bit worried about getting second booked within what was originally an 11 week gap.
Don't worry - you will get it booked within the time frame.
Thanks Bob, reassuring I guess new bookings now are within 11/12 weeks of each other and there’s currently 2nd bookings who can be considered within 8 weeks of the first and creates some movement.

Thank you, just found it odd to have cancelled like this and worried me a little
It may just be that they've cancelled the 11 week slot so you can go back to an 8 or 9 week one, as these have been freed up by earlier appointments being moved up too. Have you checked on the website to see what slots it offers you now, or won't it let you do that until tomorrow either?
In other news I'm just back from having my second jab. It was somewhat busier than the first time, and the woman on reception said that they were seeing people for their first jab who they'd expected to have been done well before now, so it sounds like the publicity about the importance of getting vaccinated is getting through. Still only had to wait about 10 minutes though, and there were enough chairs for everyone waiting, so it wasn't a faff at all.
Makes sense, at the moment if I go to rebook it treats me as new booking and offering first in June second a week after my original second - going to see what it’s like tomorrow once updated
Same thing happened to me after vaccine yesterday but now it's just let me book the second one in August.

Was your new booking in terms of date much different to your original second ?

Sorted, thanks all same day as original second and different time. Also someone not on CL had similar after their first appointment - un prompted cancellation of second

Had my 2nd jab yesterday afternoon. Similar to the first other than a slightly stiff arm no real reaction so far.

Had my 2nd AZ jab on Tuesday, no reaction this time, which was a relief as very rough after the 1st one.

Just had my first, was rapid no waiting around.
Only thing that was slightly odd was being asked if I'd ever had an allergic reaction to a covid vaccination after I'd said it was my first one.

Probably meant if you have been allergic to any vaccine in the past, but you must have made her/him nervous!

A single-dose Covid vaccine made by Janssen has been approved for use in the UK by the medicines regulator.

The vaccine, which was 85% effective in stopping severe illness from Covid-19 in trials, has met expected safety standards.

Twenty million doses have been ordered for the UK and will arrive later this year.

It will be the fourth vaccine to be used in the UK to protect against Covid-19.

Just had my 2nd jab & feel incredibly lucky , awesome job all round.

In Buckingham, today is the last vaccine day as the local practice can’t do Pfizer & there are not enough people left that need the AZ so any stragglers & younger people need to go to Milton Keynes, lots of elderly people here so the uptake has been great.

On the positive side, it takes so long to find your way out of MK... that theyl still be in the area when there 2nd jab is needed.

More than half of the over-30s jabbed in past two weeks

More than half of people in their 30s have received a vaccine dose in the last fortnight, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said.

We really are doing quite well with the vaccines, I never thought we'd get more than 60% of the adult population to have a jab.

I have had my first vaccine and am due my second in a couple of weeks The main reason for doing this is not to prevent myself dying, but to prevent others dying, including my loved ones, and to allow this country to return to a normality as quickly as possible. Those of us that have done this, can't do it in isolation. We need everybody to do it. The bonus is, I am protected from dying and the vaccine is incredibly safe. I see no reason why we should go soft on those in society not willing to do their bit to get us all out of this mess.
I do - we don't live in a police state or dictatorship.  It has to be a personal choice.  History shows us what happens when the state decides things like this for us.

Fair enough provided anyone who refused a vaccination for no good reason and subsequently caused the death of an individual from Covid could be charged with manslaughter.  Extreme maybe but in theory it could happen now under existing laws.

In that case, we have a very good chance of “never” being Covid free!
There has to be some penalties for those refuseniks, such as refusal of overseas travel.
