In this time of lockdown, I look forward to wstching us on Saturday and Tuesday. It's supposed to be the highlight of my week but invariably this team let me down. It really isn't doing my mental health any good. Now all I have to look forward too for the rest of the week is work. Fucking depressing.
Watching that was dire. One of our worst league results ever, surely? They’ve got one QUARTER of their total points tally against us as it stands.
Ultimately… I think that’s it for Bows, sadly. The body language was awful; Olly’s tweets were morose; the players appear to be rudderless.
That’s it for this season and I look forward to a renewed push with different coaching personnel in 2021/22.
Bullet points (most made during the game):
- There is NO movement ahead of the ball when we are in possession and in particular when our wingers are in possession
- Defensively we look to soak up pressure and counter against everyone in the league. Burton are bottom and we are trying to do this, to no avail.
- There is no willingness to adapt tactically after oppositions identify what we are doing
- Ben Watson underhits every pass ever
- There is too much space between Stockley and the wingers. This is exacerbated by only playing what appears to be one central midfielder
- We appear to pick eleven players seemingly at random from week to week
- There is no cogent philosophy to our play - not even one as simple as "get it down the wings, down the line and cross in from the byline"
- We started today with two wingbacks and two wingers? What the hell is that?
- The subs were thrown in seemingly at random, and Schwartz looked lost. Well, not even - he did nothing. And I suspect that is because we have made several panicked, disjointed signings, and that’s reflected in the way we play and squad imbalance.
I think it's now safe to say that Bowyer has lost it but I find it very sad more than anything else. I would like him to get a proper window but I struggle to see how he gets to the summer because it's clear the football is not going to improve.
I've been a Bow supporter, and I wont use derogatory or rude language against him, however it is time for a change. I thank him for what he did, but we are in relegation form and look devoid of confidence. A change of manager now wont rescue the season, but will give the new man time to plan for next season. I understand peoples frustrations, but just being to rude to Bowyer is, in my opinion, poor form.
We're going backwards quickly. Bright starts to games fade fast and then it's a case of painful hoofball. Tactically all over the shop, the players lack fight and no matter who comes on they don't seem to be able to change it. Purrington and Oshilaja were OK but Matthews is a shadow of the player last season.
Ultimately there are good players in that side but sadly Bowyer doesn't appear to be capable of turning this around. He just isn't good enough tactically and the players don't seem to want to run through a brick wall for him. Our season could still be saved with the squad we have but I don't think Bowyer is the answer anymore, as much as I love the bloke.
Just not good enough, Burton didn’t even have to play well, which says everything about us. We are probably a month late already if bowyer was to go. Performances, tactics, crazy team selection has undone all the good feeling bowyer built with the fans and it’s very sad. But enough is enough I think. I can’t see any way of improvement going forward.
I'm not angry, I'm sad. Bowyer will go with credit for the day out at Wembley, and holding things together through some abject times. But he does need to go.
I do think his players have stitched him up though, which is grim.

Have they?
They seem as clueless as the fans to what bowyer wants from them, and the system to play.
Tonight we:
- played long balls to jaiyesimi -pissed around passing the ball around the back -had fullbacks further upfield than the wingers -played so one sided, predominantly using the left side and Millar -had aneke playing some sort of centre mid for the last 15 mins -stood off the attacking player with possession, leading to two goals - being 2-1 down, brought on a defender, and left it to 85th min to bring on a central midfielder
All of it is bowyers tactics, and the shape he wants
WTF was that? Played well for 20 minutes, scored one and it could easily have been three. Then Burton have the tiniest bit of pressure and we dissolve. All the confidence of a virgin in a brothel.
Enough is enough. Sandgaard must surely take action now. Whatever the pros and cons of Lee Bowyer ultimately the buck stops with him. It's a results business and he is just not delivering on any level.
Feels very much like ‘the end’. Typing this now probably feeling more down than when we got relegated.
Most disappointing thing is I don’t think the players stopped trying yet we never really managed to have a proper go at them in the last half hour. If anything, they were more likely to score again.
We’ve lost our way. Sad times. But that’s football I’m afraid.
Picking peanuts out of poo on Valley Pass now. Stockley offside goal. The appalling tactics and structure is why we lost. And I’m now thinking the lack of closing down and working hard, desire, is because they don’t understand what Bowyer wants and perhaps aren’t playing for him.

Sad.
Fucking depressing.
Doesn't look like Bowyer has a clue and is fumbling about with 8 different formations hoping something works.
If players don't have a clue what formation they're going to be playing at the weekend, how could they possibly know how to train during the week?
Sorted
Anyone that still backs Bowyer.....get your head out of your arse!
Logging off for the night otherwise I may get myself banned.
Bye bye Lee.

...the bloke who owns it.
Duchatelet Out.

If you play 5 at the back at home to rock bottom Burton and leave your fit top striker on the bench in a must win game for you, then you must win.
Very surprised that we have lost 3 games since MK as @Redrobo told us we wouldn't lose again this season.
