I'd like to apologise for being a 'bed wetter', re my negative comment pre match on the lineup that didnt really excite me.

Seeing Pratley, Watson, Pearce and only 1 striker on the pitch while our top goal scorer who had a week off was on the bench against bottom of the league should have given me a big ol lob on.
  • Bowyer taking ages to attend interview

Huge credit to him for doing it but I think it is a mistake.
  • Here we go Bowyer excuse bingo coming up...

If he is getting the sack id like him to not come out with excuses or quite frankly talk about the performance at all, just thank the fans for everything and wish them the best

How the fuck can people still defend Bowyer
Did we play like shit for 30 minutes ?
We hit the post 3 times, I have a goal disallowed
that was a Goal, and two or our defenders go to sleep  and they Score a header.
Ok no excuses we should have wiped the bottom team off the page and won 3-1, but how on earth can you blame all these events on Bowyer ?
we just cannot win a home and we leak stupid Goals and I very much doubt we will get to the playoffs, but who is going to replace Bowyer ?
Teams all know we need to score at least 2 goals not to lose and the team have to stop this happening and Bowyer is as good as anyone we can afford to manage this Club.

He looks like a broken man who won't quit to me.

Someone needs to take old yellow outside.

What an absolute sack of shite.

I must have more chance of Amanda Holden sitting on me face than Bowyer has of keeping his job.
Tommy S is sending her round in a limo now....
    Cheers mate

Give Curbs the DoF role and get Chris Powell back initially until the end of the season, just to give people their smiles back. Or Curbs helping out JJ.

  • Absolutely dire.

Same pattern every game.  Start well and even score and then concede because we have a gaping deficiency in central defence. Then spend the rest of the game falling to bits.

Did Bowyer know that Innis and Famewo would get injured and Pearce drop to sub par form at the outset? No- but he knew the situation and had a window to bolster the defence by bringing in CBs in any shape or form.

Instead he has used a makeshift and constantly changing back 4 with Pearce who has been a liability and Desi who is not a centre back of any quality (a trier and ok right back but not a decent CB)

We have therefore been vulnerable in that respect for 75% of the season and he did not address it when he had the chance which will ultimately be his undoing.

To play 5 at the back with a DM in front at home v rock bottom Burton and maintain that when at 1-1 and then 2-1 is mind boggling.

I can't see how the rot stops with Bowyer in charge herein and can forsee a slump to a relegation battle or there abouts on the showing from the past 3 games.

We can talk about bad luck etc but we could have been 3 up and by the end of the game were lucky not to have conceded 3.  That is down to more than luck.

We look completely lost and devoid of ideas and can't see what this group of players and manager will do to turn it around.

Hate to say it as I love Bowyer but don't think he has it in him at the moment and he seems defeated can't think of anything to defend my previous arguments for keeping him on until next season.

Not seen anything to bolster my initial view that a proper pre season and summer window without wage cap would yield results.

It's a paradox because after recent weeks I would have mass clear out of the vast majority of the squad and they are to a man nowhere near the team that got promoted 2 years back.  At the same time Bowyer seems a world away from the manager he was back then and seems defeated from the off.  Can understand having poor players compared to previous years but the tactics and illogical and inconsistent team selection is poor or at least questionable more often than not.

Feel sorry for him and really like him and want him to succeed but can't see him doing so unfortunately and can't really find anything to defend his position after the form of late culminating in tonight's appalling result.

    Miserable situation.

  • Bowyer post match on VP:

“we started very well. Change of shape worked. We caused them a lot of problems.”
”scored first. Scored second, which should have been allowed”
”play in final third was not good enough. The quality we have in dressing room it’s not good enough”
”I’m the manager, I get them to a to b to c. I take the flack when we lose. But I’m embarrassed. We can’t keep losing games like that. But I will take the flack. We’ll go on to next Saturday”
”disappointed we didn’t win the game”

A new manager could do little better with that set of players,  let's be honest about the failings of the players as well.

He does. Made a good point there, said that theres alot of quality in the dressing room and its not being shown on the pitch.
  • He has lost the plot. '' We moved to ball well played well ''

    what game was he watching?

Disagree. I'll have a little bet with you that you will see a big improvement under any new manager.
  • We are in freefall. Sangaard's cash is being wasted. Bowyer has to go. Curbs has watched the last few months, and is ideally placed to put right all that is going wrong. Stabilise things on the pitch, and if Curbs does well and wants the job, then we need look no further. If not, TS will need to look elsewhere, but the pressing need is to stop the rot. As others have said, Bowyer gave us one of the best days in our recent history, and I hope he does the right thing - throw in the towel now and leave with dignity.

  • Bower looks like he already knows it's over, first time I've watched his post match interview on Valley pass, does he always look like this?

Is there though? If you are building for next season and take out the loanees, would you keep any of them other than for squad back up?
