  • You could bet on who shot JR and various soap opera outcomes, this isn't anything new.

Who shot Phil Mitchell was far less predictable than most WWE outcomes.  I just wish it was a thing when Hogan had full creative control, "doesn't work for me brother".

I’ve been part of a few prediction pools for pro wrestling in the past.

It could be argued that Football at the top level is more predictable than wrestling and many TV shows.
  • Thought Full Gear was superb
  • Betting on WWE is like doing the lottery, it's pure luck if you bet on the guy who just so happens to be Vince's flavour of the hour. Hell, someone just has to fall over on the way to the ring and Vince could call an audible on whether they win their match or not

Indeed it was. MJF is some talent. Couldn't stand the Young Bucks match though.

I've said it before, I find the Young Bucks obnoxious and unlikeable, and not in a "they're the heels so that's how I should feel" way. They genuinely irritate me with the way they are always in it for themselves, with constant in-jokes and references to other wrestlers or events in a stupid, self-involved way in every match or interview they have.

The VPs are the worst part of AEW and almost always the worst segments of every show.  Omega and Cody are capable of professional wrestling, I don't think the Bucks are.  Calling them spot monkeys would be unfair to monkeys.

  • This match is worth watching of you can find it.

  • I thought this thread was going to be about a re-match of Stockley v Oshi.

Bischoff always raves about it. Will search it out.

Matt Hardy's spot monkeys were called Nick and Matt! My problem with the match was the ridiculous spots. Thumb tack knee pads, thumb tacs in the mouth, etc. Neither finished the opponent off and were just daft. Really not liking Adam Cole being associated with them.

  • My missus had never watched wrestling until she met me, and she actually despises the Young Bucks - and not in the way that is intended. More in a cringeworthy kind of way.

I am usually not one to complain about spots - as I’m happier to watch that sort of stuff than the technical matches. But some of the moves the YB do are beyond parody. The Meltzer Driver doesn’t make any sense.

The Meltzer Driver really fucking annoys me, the 450 part is pointless, the name is such a "hyuckhyuck look at us we're meta wrestlers who don't care about match ratings and what journalists say about us" and they have loads of annoying different versions of it that also all make little sense. I get to enjoy Wrestling there's an element of suspension of disbelief, but Bah Gawd do these guys push all the wrong buttons for me
  • I skipped the Young Bucks match at Full Gear, which is a shame as I like Cole, Christian and Jungle Boy. I just can't get into their matches for the reasons stated above.
  • Fightful has learned that WWE have released John Morrison, Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Tegan Nox, Drake Maverick, Shane Thorne, and Jaxson Ryker.

  • HHH must be wondering to himself why on earth he bothers?

    He is trending in twitter.....
  • No more hit row is a result but WTF?
  • "The six-man brawl at Full Gear featuring The Super Kliq losing to Jurassic Express and Christian Cage was given 5 stars, making it the highest-rated match of Christian Cage’s career."

    Better than mania X7 TLC?

  • I assume that's from The Observer?  It was probably the worst match on the show.

What's with not saying Bron Breakker is Rick Steiner's son? Lots of insider references, Dog Face Puppy, Ciampa saying he less than 33 and a third chance (!) and Chucky mentioning his dad at Halloween Havoc which is a reference back to a angle from Nitro in '99 and although I loved it most would have missed it.  So weird.

Yeah Meltzer gave it a full half star than he gave TLC and a full star more than Flair Steamboat 😂😂😂
  • He's truly lost it, especially with the 7 star nonsense.

    Omega has had 19 5* matches, Will Osprey 16, Flair 11, Young Bucks 8, Steamboat 5, Austin 2, Bret 2, Shawn 2!

Is he doing this just to troll the likes of Cornette?

Omega has never had a better match than Austin Brett at wrestlemania.

I get that better is subjective but he is now so far out of any like for like comparison it's embarrassing.  IMO Brett and Austin had two 5 star matches, at least, against each other alone.  That's just on PPV.

He is doing it because he is trying to be cool, he must be about 60 and wants to be "down with the kids".
  • Meltzer is a full blown tool, one of those guys that now feels like he's got a reputation to uphold, and has to have hot takes about everything and thinks the wrestling world basically revolves around what he thinks and says

Another good one, WWE in total has had 14 5 star matches, AEW 11! WCW 7. 4 of WCW's were during the 4 month Flair V Steamboat fued in '89 with the below counted as one.

I have always maintained that the WWE/F have never had the best in ring product, even when they were the only game in town BUT those numbers are outrageous.

What Vince was brilliant at was making it feel like it matters.  Saying that I can think of 10 5* WWF matches off the top of my head.

  • Guess CM PUNK listens to Cornette's pod casts........

Without posting spoilers the t shirt punk had on for Rampage is absolutely genius.

Wasn't 1990 the first one that wasn't teams of 5 that strive to survive?  The debut of the best and worst gimmicks in WWF history.

Google Hector Guerrero and Mark Calaway kids
