Could the game realistically be called off or is this all just message board panic?
It’s absolutely hammering down and has been for a while. Unless we’ve got covers on, I can see it being  called off

I am working near Sparrows Lane today and it is hammering down, plus we just had thunder. However The Valley has superb drainage so I reckon the game will be fine, You would need heavy rain around 5pm to cast a doubt.

If it’s waterlogged of course but I don’t know whether the pitch has been covered or is being worked on. If it is in doubt a pitch inspection needs to be undertaken ideally before the away fans set off which will probably need to be 1.00 o’clock ish to get down from Sheffield by 4.30
  • There has been nothing from the club so cant see there being problems as yet

Guess at some stage they'll need to get the covers off in ready for the game which is when the pitch will start to suffer

I'd feel a lot more confident if it wasn't on TV. 0-0.

If they cover the pitch you'd think it would be fine, does anyone know if they do that?
I’m sure they will have covered the pitch, but I’m guessing with this quantity of rain the problem is probably rising groundwater.
I thought Roland had fixed that?
    Add it to the list!

It was raining lightly when I went to collect a duplicate season ticket at the ground at 10:30 (zero queue), then it stopped, then pissed down in Deptford and has now stopped.

I did ask a staff member if the covers were on but he didn’t know. I think it should be fine

Rain and 22c is different to rain and 2c.

You should’ve asked the person to pop out and check for us and offered to cover their post 😉.

A tough start to the new term. 1-1 after going behind. I reckon the youth players coming on to inject some enthusiasm and pace come to the rescue.

This may be the season where NA shows why he has a reputation of successfully incorporating young players 😉

A pity it's only a high of 19C then
  • I'd recommend going early if you're buying on the day, looks like new ticket office staff - who unsurprisingly took forever to do one adult ticket!

The transduction loop wasn't working either so I could hardly hear the guy

My problems aren't over either. Got my girlfriend a ticket but couldn't get one next to me so I'll be asking six people to budge up a space. Daunting

I have experienced something similar and discovered people are very precious about "their seat"

Travelled down from Leicestershire early this morning. Now parked up close to The Valley, roads are dry and sun is out, but still clouds around.
Off to collect ST duplicate from ticket office.
Already quite a few people here, including a Wednesday fans coach parked up near the old Antigaligan!
Burger vans are up and running as well.
Looking forward to this, but a long day as left home at 9 am!
