    Brentford. Wow.

I can’t remember the last time a team dominated a 20/25 minute spell as much as Brentford have at the end of that game, without scoring a goal.
There were 5 minute periods in there where Brentford had 90% possession. Chelsea 11 men in the 18 yard box just defending cross after cross.
    Mendy made some cracking saves.

they deserved something from that game
Only caught up on MOTD but yes, they were very unfortunate not to get at least a point. Mendy just had one of those days where the keeper is almost unbeatable...and even if you do then it hits the woodwork.

Given where we both were, only a few years ago, how the hell are Brentford playing so well in the Premier League and we are turning out such turgid rubbish at the bottom of Div 1? So frustrating that we are a million miles away and getting worse.

  • Posted without watching

So despite dominating possession when chasing the game at the end (as you would expect) they only ended up with 46% possession throughout the game.

Sounds like Chelsea controlled the first 70 minutes ?

    Wtf is up with Watford.
What justification was there for sacking Munoz?
He had the joint best record in the club's history.
Not a disastrous start to the season either and they were probably top of the mini-league of clubs who could go down.
Fucking idiotic decision. Hope they go down.
  • Great start from Spurs to quieten the Newcastle fans as planned 🙄

    Shhhhhhhh....😉
  • Nice way to score your first of the season... Great run
  • Class from the players

Seems like a fan has had troubles in the stands as the players have stopped and then signalled for someone on the bench to get a defibrillator across to them - Play has been suspended for the time being.
  • Players now being taken off the pitch
  • Fingers crossed for the patient

  • Great work by the players to spot it, I'm not watching so I assume it was near the touchline

There would be enough people in the stand to alert the stewards to get help, thinking about that person in the East Stand who's life was saved a few years ago, but it doesn't do any harm for the players to raise an alert

Think from the look of it fans were waving trying to get attention and Regulion noticed it over the opposite side of the pitch and alerted the ref

Sounds like the fan is being moved... If they're doing that this soon, you'd hope they're "okay".

Players are back out on the pitch for a 3min warm up before playing the rest of the first half
  • 3-1 to Spurs... Newcastle havent got going again since the restart
  • Beheaded in fhe morning
You're getting beheaded in the morning...

Jon-Jo Shelvey with two ridiculous fouls.

At no time did he attempt to play the ball; he must have something else on next weekend.

  • Got to laugh, Spurs after all the shouts of terrible start, Nuno is out of his depth, Kane isn't interested etc, are up to 5th and above Man U.

Maybe he's getting a brain installed?

Bizarrely though, they've gone from scoring six goals and conceding just one in their first five matches to scoring 15 and letting in 17 from their next eight games.

They still have a soft under belly (no team in the top half have conceded more) and I would be extremely surprised if they finish in the top four. Being above United is more a reflection of that team's issues and the fact that Brighton are ahead of both of them, with just eight goals to their name, rather says it all.

They'll go down and Ranieri won't last the season

  • You can't judge it on one game against Liverpool tbf

I wouldn't look too in depth just now but there are a few baby shoots of progress.

Creativity was always the issue but playing 4-2-3-1 plays so much to our strengths.   Romero for only his 3rd PL start looks like a PL veteran.  Pace in both full back positions.  Ndombele, our most creative force, played as a genuine no.10 with an insurance policy of Skipp and PEH behind, allowing the front three to do their thing and you can see progress.

Ndombele is an enigma.  He is so talented but he is the laziest arse footballer I've ever seen at Spurs.  Against Arsenal, he may as well not bothered to come out for that first 35 mins.  Yet yesterday and against Villa, he ran the show.

Interestingly, Gio Lo Celso was supposed to have put in two back-to-back MOTM performances for Argentina last week yet didnt come on yesterday.  I have to say, I really do think Dele and Winks are done at Spurs now.  I see no way back for them into the first XI.  Dele worked harder in the first few games than we've seen in a good few seasons but that first 45 mins against Arsenal showed how limited he is as a central midfielder.  He played his best football for Spurs in behind Kane but he's never going to get in front of Ndombele or Lo Celso.

We'll really know where we are as a team next Sunday when we go to the East London shit pit.  They are playing well and Moyes has got them properly organised.  Getting a result against Villa and Newcastle is one thing, against them is totally another.

  • Could see Dele Alli being a Newcastle target.

Think that might be their level at the moment, the likes of him, Lingard, Max Aarons....
  • Conor Gallagher is such a good player. The fact he’s doing it for Palace makes me sick.
  • Fucking depressing, Palace just gone 2 1 up away at Arsenal, while we’re losing to the likes of Lincoln. They’re on a different planet to us football wise now.

Fear not. Watch us nick a massive point against the mighty Accrington at home tomorrow.
  • Watching Palace beat Arsenal at The Emirates, with Gallagher and Kiely involved for Palace, makes you realise we really have done something awful in a previous life to deserve the torture of the last decade. Surely the luck will turn in our favour soon.
  • ….oh and, how the hell is Pepe a £75m player?!

    Employed Dowie
  • Was thinking at the start of play for all the signings that appeared decent in the summer, they've only won one game...

Now back to thinking they did some really good business.  Guehi and Anderson looks a really good partnership, Edouard is scoring, Gallagher was a shrewd signing, Olise set up a goal.

Eze and Zaha to come back too.

    Decent side annoyingly.
