BBC Sport says it's the first Grand Slam since the 1977 French Open that a former major champion has not featured in either the men's or women's semi-finals.

Nice to see lesser known players get their chance of a Grand slam, far more exciting than the usual foregone conclusions of Sinner or Alcaraz. This may give a few players the incentive they need to make that extra effort to get to the top.

I think they will still stop doing it, probably for extended periods but they have been told by the EU not to. Or told by the EU not to say they are not doing it, because it is annoying other countries because people are choosing to go to Greece instead

Will be interesting to hear Lifer's experiences - hopefully common sense will prevail!

Sorry, wrong thread (of course!). Will re-post - on the correct one (but not delete the evidence of my mistake)

Speaking of Emma Radacanu,,has anyone else seen her advert on TV why on earth ,other than money, does someone humiliate themselves to this extent.

NOT British of course .. the French Ladies Final .. 2 'new(ish) faces' .. entertaining match, no screaming or grunting every point, 2 players just getting on with it
