Murray out in 1st round in Rome - very disappointing.
It is disappointing that he lost but Fognini is a clay court specialist and beat Andy on clay often when they played even when Andy was physically at his fittest so not the end of the world.
Andrew Richardson has come out saying that the Raducanu camp dumped him after the US Open win and that it was not him that chose to step away to work with his son. Credit to him for holding back from speaking out when the false story came out. HUGE own goal and bad decision by the Raducanu camp IMHO.

The Raducanu soap opera is a bit tiresome - must irk a lot of the other tennis players.

Just seem this. I was previously under the impression he hasn't wanted to go on tour and it was only a temporary appointment. Tursunov commented he couldn't fault her attitude but said there were 'red flags' and "she needed one voice' - maybe too much/unfortunate parental and or LTA influence?
Murray’s turned up at the Challenger event in Bordeaux, after winning the Challenger in Aix-en-Provence recently.
He’s seeded second and gets a bye into the second round.
Murray is up to world no. 40 in the live rankings and a win in this event would more than likely get him into the top 35.
Looks a tougher field than the previous Challenger event.
Yeah if the draw goes to plan with seedings, his route to winning would involve beating Wawrinka, Humbert, Gasquet and Struff. Not a line-up of nobodies by any means.

Potentially a very good warm-up for him prior to the French Open.

I think it's likely to be down to her dad. He's ever-present and very controlling by all accounts.

Crushing defeat against Wawrinka for Murray - seems little point Murray playing the French Open. Clay is too much of a struggle for him.
Katie Boulter replaces Emma Radecanu as British number one. She'll have a tough job holding on to top spot, but it won't be Emma again for a while (if ever)
Andy is now world no. 43. When is the cut off for the Wimbledon main draw in terms of seeding?
If it's before Queen's Club, unfortunately Murray's best ranking possible will be in the high 30s (with a win in Nottingham this week giving him 125 ranking points).
If it's after Queen's Club, he could just about make the top 32 with a win in Nottingham and semi-final appearance at Queen's (125pts for Notts plus 180 for SF). Whether he wins or loses at Nottingham, the difference between semi-final (180pts) and final (300pts) at Queen's would make up the difference for any points he misses out on in Nottingham.
Best case scenario: he wins Surbiton (check), Nottingham and Queen's back to back to back. That would boost his ranking points to 1525 and have him just outside the world's top 20 heading into Wimbledon.

He'd be fucked if he did that so better skipping one possibly

Hopefully he can be competitive at Wimbledon.
First victory on home soil since 2016

Can't see him getting a seeding at Wimbledon unless quite a few players drop out...
5 set matches will be a stiffer physical test.
