Anyone watching the Davis Cup? Thought it supposed to be iPlayer but I can't find it.

Dan Evans currently playing - I can find the match stats on a Davis Cup site but not the feckin score!
I just searched Davis Cup on i player and it came straight up.
It's 4-5 to Evans in games and is on live.
Thanks, I'll try again. I searched 'Davis Cup' and 'Tennis' (unsurprisingly) but the only tennis that came up was Queens and Wimbledon. I'll try under the sport menu

Edit - I:m in via the categories and then sport

    Thanks
  • Anyone know if Draper is out for the whole round robin, or could he play later e.g. against Canada (I'm hoping)?

Will play if fit - decision still to be made.
  • Jacob Fearnley through to the final of the Rennes Challenger tournament. Has already won two challenger events this year and up to 137 in the rankings. Looks a promising player.

I can't keep up with all these British tennis players coming through, great to have so much depth now.
  • Fearnley wins in Rennes - up to 129 in the rankings.
  • Sonay Kartal (Sidcup-born) wins in Tunisia, that's a 250-point tournament and she's into the top 100

Now at 96 in the rankings. Up 55 places.
  • Britain fail to qualify in Davis Cup after losing to Canada. Evans and Draper both lose in the singles.

Raducanu through to QF of Korea Open and up to 54 in the rankings. Likely to play No 1 seed Kasatkina next.

  • Raducanu retires with foot injury against Kasatkina after losing first set 6-1. Injuries continue to be a problem.

    .
And it's the type of injuries she gets which are concerning. Either she's not conditioned enough, or her body just isn't suited to professional sport.
  • I hope it's that she's still young and growing but her coaches should be aware of that stuff
  • Draper beat no. 2 seed and world no. 8 Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets to reach the QF of the Japan Open.

His half of the draw contains himself (#20), his QF opponent Ugo Humbert (#19), Tomas Machac (#34) and Alex Michelsen (#49) so a decent opportunity to reach an ATP 500 final.

Draper retires due to abdominal injury in QF against Humbert. Disappointing end to tournanent.

Jacob Fearnley in the Challenger Final at Orleans today - would be his fourth Challenger title of the season if he wins and move him inside the top 100. Interesting to see how far he can go.
  • Fearnley up to 98 in world rankings after victory in Orleans.
  • Line judges are to disappear from Wimbledon as the All England Club has decided to adopt electronic line calling from 2025.

The technology will be in place for all qualifying and main draw matches and replace the judges who were responsible for calling shots 'out' and 'fault' on a serve.

There will also be a significant change to the schedule on the final weekend, with the ladies' and men's singles finalists no longer walking out on to court at 14:00 BST.

In future, the singles finals will begin at 16:00, with the men's doubles at 13:00 on the Saturday and the ladies' doubles at 13:00 on the Sunday.

Interesting swap in the schedule. I guess with doubles matches being so much shorter than they used to be, they now make a nice prequel to the main event of the singles finals.

Might mean more people in the arena see them too rather than just leaving after the singles

  • With Draper progressing well and the new 15yo girl Mika we have 2 genuine prospects in the next few years
  • Draper up to 15 in the world
  • Draper wins Vienna final in straight sets. If he can stay injury free he has to be looking at a top 10 place in the rankings.
  • Draper through to final of Vienna open - will be his first ATP 500 title if he wins.

    Top 15 in rankings.
    Means nothing to me......
  • Another great win for Jack - just beaten Taylor Fritz in Paris

    Paris Masters:
Big win by Jack Draper in beating Taylor Fritz 7-6 4-6
    6-4
    Now meets Alex De Minaur.

7th win in a row for Jack and always good to see him beat higher ranked player's.
  • Brilliant result for Jack. Solidifying his place in the top 20 now. Another deep tournament run and he might find himself top 10 by the year end.

    Live ranking of 14 now

Katie Boulter reaches the Hong Kong open final with a 6-2 5-7 6-2 victory over Yue Yuan.

I predicted that Katie would/could reach 20 in the world 6 years ago if she could stay fit as she was tall with a strong serve( erratic though !) and continued to improve.

She will be at least ranked 23rd next week and she is within a few aces from winning her 3rd WTA title of the year and chasing that elusive 20th spot.

The 25/26 season will be possibly Boulter's best chance of progression in her career before the travelling and the toll on her body. 28 years old now so big season for KB next year.

Katie's Boyfriend Alex De Minaur had a good win against Jack Draper coming back from losing the 1st set and halting Jack's winning run. I watched most of the match and Alex is a tremendous athlete and runner and improved as the match moved on.

As Princess Fiona states, 14 in the men's is excellent at 22 years old and with the likes of Federer, Nadal, Murray and Stan the man all retired or about to it just leaves the GOAT still playing but even Novak is showing signs of being human.

Time: the one competitor that even genius Sport athletes will succumb to, eventually 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏿‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

    Live ranking of 14 now
Unfortunately was beaten in the round of 16 by Alex de Minaur who got revenge for the US Open straight sets defeat.

Even though he’s 14 in the live rankings now, he may be leapfrogged by Ugo Humbert or Karen Khachanov and be forced to settle for 15.

He’s the fourth highest ranked player under the age of 25 behind only Sinner, Alcaraz and Rune.
