  • will be out getting fuelled up with friends on the IOW on the Friday night, not a good bit of scheduling for me.
Fuelled up? Normally that term is used for high alcohol consumption.🙂
    That's what I meant.
,😯 Large Addick gets pissed in the pub. That should make the OS .

That'll knock a few hundred off the away attendance.
The magic of the fa cup.
Surely a TV fee covers 200 tickets
    Oh that’s alright then 🙄
What are we moaning about now? Because I'm stuck. Lose 200 seats because its on TV, but you get a bigger fee than 200 tickets from ITV, unless you think we are taking 3000 to any away game any time soon ?

You can still travel to Gateshead if you like, I look forward to seeing the pictures.
Because I imagine some people wanted to go and now they can’t

If it’s altrincham then I’d have gone had it been on a Saturday. I can’t take the time off work to go on a Friday evening though.

If it’s Gateshead then it likely means a hotel stay now as well
That's probably case for whatever day we played though.

Will always be a date that suits some and not others. Most live cup slots are pretty shit either way, unless you get the 5.30 Saturday one.
  • Have provisionally booked a hotel in Gateshead and one in Stockport (Manchester prices are insane).

    When's their replay?

I’m moaning that fans aren’t being thought about ‘yet again’.
That we should just be happy to get the TV money & be done with it?
Youngsters like an away day. How many will not now go because they can’t have a night out after in a town/city nearby? It’s not just about you & I, it’s about keeping young fans interested in what was once a special tournament that has now been devalued by TV money, the EPL…….the list goes on.
I see ageism is alive and kicking.
I'm 47 and I love an away day.

    Tuesday night

Man U play Palace on the Sunday, so I imagine the police didn't want us playing in the Manchester area on the same day, if Altrincham go through
Full set of league Fixtures on the Tuesday night (Ipswich at home) so for the players a Friday night game is not a bad outcome
Think Tuesday 30th is the next round of the Pizza Trophy as well, although maybe that'll be a weaker side

Means that this week between Burton / Plymouth is the last full week between games until 11th December

We play Tues | Sat between Plymouth and Cambridge now

There's 2 big events at Warehouse project in Manchester that weekend so i'd imagine a lot of people are booking up hotels & Air BnBs

Also may have to play on 14th December if a replay is needed.

Wasn't able to watch the first round match from abroad due to the broadcast rules around Charlton TV. Hopefully the game being on ITV4 means I can catch it somewhere.

In that regard, I am a fan that is very happy that it's been moved for TV. If you want to go that badly, you will find a way.
  • FA Cup second-round televised games
    Friday, 3 December
    Gateshead or Altrincham v Charlton Athletic 19:45 kick-off - live on ITV4

    Saturday, 4 December
Buxton v Morecambe 12:45- live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
Yeovil Town v MK Dons or Stevenage 17:30 live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer

    Sunday, 5 December
Rochdale or Notts County v Sheffield Wednesday or Plymouth Argyle 12.15pm - live on ITV
    Salford City v Chesterfield 17.15 - live on ITV4

    Monday, 6 December
Boreham Wood v St Albans City 19.45 - live on ITV4
Shame it wasn't on the Sunday for "historical" reasons, apart from that pretty happy. Wouldn't have gone so now I can see us lose live on tv for free....😄.

There will always be some group of fans unhappy with the time its shown. Also don't get the faux angst over moving the kick-off time/date for tv - this has been going on for years so time you got used to it.
Because we usually get a boring home draw, then if it's anything good it turns into a total pain to go to - Northwich, Halifax, Mansfield, this.

What's the point in this competition if the only games worth getting excited about involve a hotel night? I know quite a few well travelled, regular away fans and only one of them is considering this fixture.

I'll save my money and day off for the probable Crewe postponement in a competition that actually matters.

@Croydon was looking at hotels in Manchester this morning. I can confirm you are not lying they are off the Richter scale.
Booked in to the Best Western in Altrincham in the end.

I’ve been reliably informed that there are so nice pubs near by.
  • If it's Altrncham then you could make a weekend of it and go to Aintree races on the Saturday.
  • Ben Watson will be the studio guest for the Solihull Wigan match tomorrow
  • The Altrincham Gateshead replay  is tonight
  • Got a brother that lives in Newcastle.
Got a hotel booked in Altrincham.

    I am ready for this
  • Is this on tv or radio at all?
  • Listening to the coverage on BBC Radio Manchester still 0-0
