Friday 7.45pm
Saturday 5.15pm
Sunday 12.15, 3 and 5.15pm
Monday 7.45pm
Given the distance only the saturday and the 2 later sunday ones are that appealing.
Sunday 12.15 in that wide open Gateshead stadium, freezing cold with at least 50% of our support nursing hangovers from a night out in Newcastle would be soul destroying.Evening game, please. Then us followers in NZ don't have to get up a shit-o-clock to watch the game.Ideally Friday 7.45pm = 8.15am Saturday, so Aotearoa Addicks can meet up for bacon, eggs and football...if we're out of lockdown.
According to my wife, the answer is yes.

Wanted gateshead away, and even more so on a Sunday as I can fly to Newcastle via a 9 hr stop over in Amsterdam for 4.99 using my amazon prime0

Don't Gateshead play at the Athletics stadium? - looks crap3

The Gateshead pitch looked almost as narrow as the ones on Blackheath.
Terrible draw because we risk losing to a non league side, Northwich Victoria was the single lowest point in my Charlton supporting life, don’t want it again. The entire world, non Charlton, will support either Altrincham or Gateshead against us (quite rightly).
Altrincham is a less up north place to be grim in, but they play at a higher level. Hard to know who to root for in the replay…which I expect Jacko to attend by the way.

Some people say that the FA Cup has lost some magic, which is understandable with today's league structures.Personally I think the magic of the 3rd round has moved back to the 1st round now after watching the games over the weekend.1
-
A proper cup draw where we play a team either 2 or three steps below; following on from Havant and waterlooville.
It's feels like the FA cup is best in the qualifying rounds, and the first 3 rounds.
After that the magic diminishes and the brand teams take over.

Surely Watson can't be picked at a Running Stadium ?3 -
Interesting little game, and hopefully, hopefully we progress and get a really big day out.0

Altrincham is far from a grim place up north - compared to the area round our ground it’s very upmarket. Generally seen as being one of the middle class suburbs where the higher earning professionals in Manchester live.
Call me Phil Spencer.2 - Sponsored links:

Call me Phil Spencer.
Admittedly some places are not that grim, but there is the grim northern weather to take into account.
Gateshead is easier to get to than Altrincham from the main stations of Newcastle or Manchester.

This is a proper cup tie, exactly what the FA cup should be about. Small non-league ground, visited by a fallen 'giant'. Can't believe anyone could be unhappy with this.

There's a couple of reasons to be unhappy.
We don't know who we're playing until next Tuesday by which time trains etc are going to be a fortune (already are) especially on the back of 3 league away games.
It's probably going to be on TV meaning a dreadful KO time making it even more awkward travelling.
Hopefully BBC and ITV will leave it well alone but I'm 99% sure it'll be selected.
Agree though, the tie itself is a good one.

Of the 2 Altrincham looks much the better ground to visit - old school non-league ground - Gateshead looks awful3
