Hoping for a replay3 -
Finally a home cup match where all the stands will be open……can’t remember the last one outside the premier league.Premier league team at home, personally think it’s a great draw.4

Not sure who you've met or what you were drinking/taking at the time, but one thing that Norwich fans aren't, is arrogant.
Like the city itself, it's a really decent football club with a fanbase that has realistic expectations and who understand the club's limitations.
Ive known a few Norwich fans from my younger years who I found insufferable and were incapable of talking about anything without bringing it back to Norwich every single time. Had similar experiences with them at games against Charlton.
Didn’t realise it wasn’t allowed to say anything negative about Norwich!3 -
It'll be weird to be playing MK (H) and Norwich (H) within a few days of each other in two different cups.
What would've been even weirder is if we had drawn Arsenal U21 (H) in the PJT and Arsenal (H) in the FA Cup. Arsenal might've played the same side (or close to) in both fixtures!

Decent draw this.
Premier League club at home, possible upset and getting into the 4th. Round.
We are LEAGUE 1, Right? Improbable it may be but at least there's a chance, given our opponents circumstances.
Why some are disappointed we won't be knocked out by Arsenal is puzzling to me. Is there some kind of status in that?2 -
Charltonintheblood said:Charltonintheblood said: butI can remember an old Div 1 match vs Norwich at Selhurst in the late 80’s which we lost , maybe 1-0. It was dark days for Charlton, a home crowd of well under 10k, probably not much more than 5k, maybe bottom of the league and they were singing ‘What’s it like to have no ground’!!!ffs. No great respect therefore for Norwich fans.
I wrote to Lennie Lawrence after this match ( no email then!) and told home to keep fighting, no matter what. He sent me a brief note of reply expressing ‘Tks’.
The story had a happy ending - we miraculously avoided relegation - and Lennie remains a Charlton legend. The story of the ascent from the ruins of Selhurst back the Valley and the journey since is one of the great football stories and hopefully will see us restored again to the pinnacle of English football over the next few years.🤞
So let’s win this match and put those Norwich fans back in their box.
Maybe we did get relegated that year (if it was 1989/90) but the taunting of the Norwich fans was not appreciated. This is not the time to get mad, however - just get even!0 -

I wonder if we are forgetting how big the gulf between League One and the Premier League is. I don’t give us much hope unless they play a weak side and we play well with a strong side.1

Decent tie in my eyes, all of the complaining & moaning from our fans (especially social media) is a bit odd - the phrase “luck of the draw” exists for a reason.0 - Sponsored links:

A good draw, a chance to see a few first teamers and some u23’s from Norwich, hope our lads are buzzing and up for it, and the players as well.0

Perfect tie, winnable, but no disgrace if we go out, just a shame we didnt get Forest so we could have let Taylor know our feelings, but there again he would probably have got a minor knock in a previous game.0

Just flicked through this thread and genuinely scratching my head at those who think this is a disappointing draw.
We've got a home draw against a Premier League club who will almost certainly sell out their end. But not only are they a PL team, they are one who are fighting to stay in the league and who will almost certainly prioritise the league over the cup. So I expect them to play largely their reserves, particularly as the game will come at the end of the frantic Christmas programme.
Not saying we will win but if JJ can put out our first team it could be fun!8 -
I'm sure they'll rest some players but their game before us is 1 Jan and their game after is another week later. Plus with a new manager and the window open by then they may even have made a couple of new signings early in the window.

My god how times have changed.
We draw a Premier League club at home and plenty of posters already hoping Norwich rest their first team and play reserves so it increases our chances of winning.
What happened to the days when we were buzzing that we would get the chance to see top division stars playing at The Valley and our lesser known players and manager pitting their wits against them.
Thank god I am old enough to remember going to Liverpool, Man United and Blackburn in the FA Cup to witness full strength first team sides going up against each other.
