Oh and which clown lined up our defensive walls at the free kicks once again?

3 men in the first wall!
I said he's gonna score because he had a clear sight of goal.

The next one they lined up with Morgan standing apart from the wall giving them another free shot at goal.

You would honestly think we were doing our best to concede.

I knew more about defending when I was 8 years old.

What a night. Charlton stunk the house out again. Millwall last min winner, Lyle Taylor the hero.

Just need to hear now that Matt Southall won the EuroMillions and find Alan Pardew on my side of the bed when I go up.
Or the Mrs's side in the morning.
  • Outplayed by a bloke called Stanley, well played sir a convincing win.

Another midfield hotchpotch selection had predictable results, with a first half dominated by Accy, who must have wondered how on earth they only went in at 1-1.

We started the second half well but, having ridden the 10 minute storm, our opponents predictably reassumed control and Charlton’s atrocious defending quickly saw us 3-1 down.

Adkins’ response was (as my son put it) like a 12 year old on PlayStation, throwing on all his forwards, although one of them, Washington, did extremely well to retrieve the ball near the corner flag, cross it to where (typically) no Charlton player had ventured in the box but a feeble clearance sent the ball to Stockley, who got us back in the game at 3-2. There were a couple of decent efforts on goal after that but, in truth, we absolutely did not deserve a point in what was an exceptionally poor and clueless performance.

The team has shown no promise whatsoever over the first league 13 games and has stunk the place out during the vast majority of them. A change of manager is now certainly needed, as a further delay is only likely to see us more firmly rooted in the relegation zone - perhaps irretrievably.

I flip flopped all day today about going, I did and how I regretted it.

Our CM’s are seriously lacking movement, game intelligence and energy but honestly those two full backs are a disgrace and the worst I’ve ever seen - they are a massive part of the problem! Each responsible for a goal.

But he whole evening was made worse by the absolute melt sat in the family stand next to me going absolutely nuts at the linesman the WHOLE game in front of his very young, confused kid.

I’m going to have to move seats if I have to put up with that… even the game was more enjoyable

Why are our players so brain dead? How many stupid fouls did Gilbey give away when the bloke is going nowhere. No footballing intelligence at all
And Gunter was the worse culprit. Absolutely clueless the lot of them.

If there is to be a cull should the Pelchen algorithm be included?

Recruitment analysts Ruben Sammut and former academy graduate Aaron Barnes, work with the Australian-based Dan Pelchen to analyse the data from an algorithm Pelchen has built for the club over the last 12 months to highlight players based on the club’s intended playing style.

I went back to source for more context on this.

That's really scary. The management team have definitively and effectively institutionalised failure in the fabric of the club.

Horrible on the pitch, but you need that and it’s something we definitely lack, but seems like a nice lad and it was obviously a big night for him.

There was so much optimism in that piece. It's hard to believe that it was only written six weeks ago.

Feels like Adkins is in such a irreparable position that nobody is really questioning the excessive amount of players that are coming in and out of the team this season, he has absolutely no idea what his best 22 players are let alone best 11.

I know it’s a game of opinions but how in his eyes do Gunter & Souare warrant a start after being poor vs Lincoln over Matthews & Purrington?

How does Morgan get frozen out the team for so long and is suddenly deemed good enough to start vs Accrington?

He drops Stockley so the team don’t lump it up to him then brings him back in when Davison didn’t deserve to be dropped and I doubt our players could tell us the way we were playing!

I just feel so tired of this football club lately. Accrington didn’t need to get out of 2nd gear to beat us no wonder why they didn’t need to make a sub, an easy stroll in the park.

    Very good write up from
Accrington manager admits they were lucky and outplayed second half to get the win .. said it could have been 5-5 …. He said not always the manager fault and fans need to understand that

Not always the managers fault that we play badly and lose?
Maybe as a one-off Mr Coleman, but game after game?
    It is the managers fault.
How could it be much worse?

Coleman is right, yes Adkins out etc. But these players need to grow a pair of bollocks too
  • Forget a clean sheet win , Still haven’t seen us win in the league yet!

This is my biggest problem with Adkins, the absolutely random team selections.

Kirk is in, then out, comes back and is now out again.

Arter was in, then out, back in and now out.

Stockley was in, then out and now back.

Morgan was in, then out and now back.

Jayeshimi was in, then out and now back.

This has all taken place in the last six games or so!

    Not sure that’s true:
    a) his assets are property. I doubt the value of the property is massively impacted by the division the team who rents the property is playing in over the other factors which determine property value.
    b) my understanding is one of the big factors which drags down the property value is the challenge anyone would face in getting planning permission to develop the site into something else, that might be an easier sell to the council if we were in non-League!

It feels like Roland has done Sandgaard, I wonder if that’s starting to sink in for TS yet?

I sat behind the home dugout as I wanted to see how Adkins behaves and ‘manages’.

It was interesting. He micromanages the game constantly barking orders. On most occasions his message didn’t get through. It is hard for players to hear, granted, but I’m sure in a number of occasions they just ignored him. It appeared we were surprised by and unprepared for everything Stanley did, almost as though we’d done no prep work.

Stockley involved in an argument with Euell for most of the first half. Gunter and Jackson similar. Adkins seems so far removed from our club and fans. He wants a payout as far as I can see.

But, but, it's Adkins they don't respect, JJ and Euell aren't allowed input.

    Attacking player shouting at Euell
Defender having a barmy with Jackson

Snarky jokey comments aside, I'd say this is probably the most obvious evidence that something ain't right in the set up.

There's divided opinions on the players abilities, the core of the squad we had last season we've retained, there's an argument that they are a top 6 group based on where and how we finished last season - as a result there's the belief that they're underperforming massively and (rightly) so in that situation the manager is to blame.

But.... Can that logic not be applied to Adkins? If the players don't suddenly go from play off potential to relegation quality then why would the manager - it was Adkins in charge for the run in with those players last season after all...

In truth, they're both probably top half quality, Aneke papered over last season's cracks. And got us closer than we maybe should have been.

Something changed in the close season that's lead to the players and staff looking clueless and useless. So, is it the identity and philosophy we're supposed to be implementing?

If it is, this so called identify that we're trying to create ain't working right now, and it's not something we need either, if we're forcing coaches to coach outside of their comfort zone and ability and forcing a formation and play style that doesn't suit our players.... Then it's gonna be a shit show. And it is.

And that needs addressing just as much as Adkins position.

First half was dreadful, Accrington just walked through us. 2nd half we played well for nearly 20 minutes which actually was nearly enough for an undeserved point.

Their 3rd goal how can you let a player run across the box and get a shot away like that?

    We're in big trouble
    Ask Albie Morgan

Spot on. The only consistent thing about Adkins is he changes the starting 11 every week.
I think that’s a huge part of this mess. No development of partnerships, no understanding, no style of play.
    No chance.
