    No
  • He is clearly mentally ill and deserves our pity. Hopefully he will get the treatment he needs.
  • Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.

  • That photo with the queen greeting Liz Truss, you couldn’t help noticing the colour of Her Majesty’s hand. Bless her.
  • prepping the nation I think - otherwise why release such a statement, bless her she did look really frail in the last pic of her.

I think so, and would not surprise me if it has happened. The mood of the bbc reporter running the story has changed a lot in the last 10mins.
  • A friend of mine used to work in the comms team at Kensington Palace. He reckons that she really wont have long left if that message has gone out - in that they wont release a message like that unless she is very poorly.

How anyone can knock her when she is still working (eg meeting Liz Truss) when most people on here would be lying in a hospital or care home is anyones guess.
I agree with the last line, but some of what I've seen simply suggested that she deserved to put her feet up and leave the work to other members of her family. I'd expect to be able to sit about watching the Disney Channel and having snacks brought to me in bed, and she deserves the same.
Not a swipe at Truss (for a change) but someone else should be capable of doing that.
  • seems the family have been summoned

  • Her majesty is one of the few things that has kept us distinct from the Marvel characters across the Atlantic, thoughts with her and her family

That and the fact that it appears Charles, William etc are dashing up there.

    Doesn't sound good.
  • Prince Charles has travelled to Balmoral.

The Duchess of Cornwall has also travelled there and the Duke of Cambridge is on his way.

Yeah I think it's really concerning for them all to be travelling up there so quickly.

Perhaps others offered to step up but she won’t allow it out of a sense of duty.

    A truly remarkable woman.
I’m pretty sure it’s a constitutional thing - something only the Head of State can do.

Thoughts with Her Majesty and family.
  • Just heard on the radio.

Sounds very serious for such a statement and for the family to travel.

Yes, not sounding good. The fact she is staying at Balmoral and has not transferred to a medical facility is ominous.

"But from last night’s last-minute cancellation of what would only have been a virtual meeting of the privy council, there is no mistaking the fragility of the Queen’s health."

Seems like more than just talk about the 'rest' that we used to get over the previous year or so.

It does. If this was just routine I doubt we’d have heard. I suspect the announcement was necessary because when the family start to arrive the photographers would break the news rather than the Palace.

It all sounds rather ominous. I remember when my gran was passing a few years ago, it all becomes a bit of a blur although i can vividly remember the mad dash for the close family to get to the bedside.

I hope she is as comfortable as possible.. at least she is in a place that she loves.

  • Just said on BBC that the Princess Royal is at Balmoral and the Duke of York and Earl of Wessex are on there way.  :(
  • Seeing newsreader on ITV wearing black.
  • BBC One have suspended all regular programming until 6pm.
