Frees up a loan space and hopefully some wages , maybe we have someone in mind to replace him quite quickly
Don’t need to replace him .. the system we brought him in to play we no longer play … plus we were paying over 10k a week towards his wages

I wasn’t necessarily talking about a like for like replacement more in terms of using his loan space/wages up :)

Now Arter has returned to Nottingham Forest does that club have any useful strikers they don't use very much, who we might take on loan instead?

Good quotes from Jacko. Deals will come but it’s not all going to happen immediately.

Hope they have some good candidates lined up to fill the hole left by Jayden.

I was going to say what with Stockley injured (and out for who knows how long) that it was even more imperative they we could sign a striker who could hit the ground running, but knowing us, he’d get injured!

Do we actually have scouts and a scouting network in place these days or are so called talented up and coming players identified by their playing stats?
Gallen reads this thread and builds a shopping list from that

    Course we were….🤫
  • Lorenzo Insigne who has been at Napoli for over a decade, scored 19 goals in Serie A last season, played for Italy at the Euro's and is only 30 years old, has made a shock move to Toronto and will join them in July.

Apparently they have more than tripled his Napoli salary!

Millwall's Jed Wallace is set to sign for Besiktas in one of the stranger moves of the window

A massive blow if they lose him

I assume that would be for a free in the summer. Weird move though

Wallace to Besiktas would just be for the money and there seems to be plenty of that floating around in Turkey.  At 27 he probably has 1 mabe 2 good contracts left in him so he is going to make hay while he can.  Likely to double his money at least so a bit of a no brainer.  Expect a healthy signing on fee too

Interestingly Louie Barry has the same agent as Washington and Gilbey and Leko.  Also interesting is that this agent brought Gallagher to us a couple of years ago.

Even more interesting is he is a former Charlton player.

Coincidence maybe - we shall see

Absolutely. Salary sport says he's on 12k a week at Millwall, whereas even an average player at Besiktas is on around 25k. Add on the signing on fee and he'll do very nicely for a couple of years.

If it doesn't work out he'll easily get a championship gig again in a couple of years.

Not another one of Jon Fortune's players?

Kevin Nicholls.  I met him last night and we had a good chat.  Not about Louie Barry, just football in general

We should not go for ANYONE over the age of 30.

It's wasted money spent on a player that will give us a season and move on again. We need to actually start building a team of good, young hungry players.

Fixers like Pearce, Arter, Souare and Watson do nothing to help us 2-3 years down the line.
In theory you are right but in practice we have had loads of excellent oldie signings. From my youth I recall Eddie Firmani x 3, Cliff Holton, Ron Saunders, so never say never.

He's actually on 42k a week according to the Peterborough owner. He's played TWO league games.

I don't know what's worse, the fact Arsenal gave an unproven kid 42k a week, or the fact that Championship side Middlesbrough (who i thought were struggling financially) are prepared to pay it in full.

Ridiculous. Championship teams having to pay that sort of money is a great example of how screwed the game is.

They’ve had a bit of revival under Wilder, but they’re only 7th.  Players being paid £40k a week for a team 7th in the second tier of English football is pathetic
  • Gibson is clearly going all out for promotion though, they signed Connolly on loan from Brighton the other day.

But Gallagher's agent is the all powerful devil incarnat who was solely responsible for everything bad ever. I know it's true I read it on here 300 times so it must be.
