Why are we taking so long? The whole squad had their match fee taken off them last week for slow run rate but this is weird. Surely now we want to speed up and get the new ball under the lights rather than having 2 over tonight and then a new ball in the morning, I'll bow to superior knowledge of the game but from my perspective I do not know what we are trying to achieve
Warne is just a complete knob of a commentator. Spent 5 mins saying they had to hit root out the attack then warner almost plays on and he says "not long till the break just play him out and get through, don't get out to the part timer"
Question for you. Would you rather go for a pint with Warner or Warner 😂
The answer is a simple one, you go with both of them. Pour the pint over Warne and glass Warner
If I was stuck in a lift with Warne and warner and had a gun with only one bullet, I would shoot myself
To Warner "We saw you cry on the telly" Directed at the former Aussies captain "He swipes to the left, he swipes to the right, Tim Paine, he cheats on his wife"
We have to attack the stumps with this new ball - pitch the bloody thing up. Yes we are getting it to move but every ball so far would have bounced at least a foot over the stumps.

If you were the only person standing on the shore of a lake and you had access to one life belt that you could throw into the water, and you saw Warne and Warner, drowning in the lake, what sandwich would you choose to eat while you watched them?

BOWL BLOODY FULL
every other game i'm screaming this at broad, now anderson's bowling it back of a length too.
There's playing and missing. And then there's playing and missing. A lot of the time Labushagne is deliberately playing inside the ball whereas others would follow it and knick off. So to quote that he's played and missed a million times is not correct. You don't average 64.15 in Test cricket without knowing where your off stump is or when to play the best shot in the book at that level - the "leave"

I get why they were doing it with the old ball, keep it tight dont give them anything keep ourselves in the game. Now we have the new ball, under lights and its moving plenty. If we dont attack the stumps now then we never bloody will. We have to take wickets in this period otherwise its game over. If they are 3 down in the morning we will be bowling all day tomorrow too.
2010/11 the resounding memory I have is how many wickets we got bowled. Anderson, Tremlett Bresnan and Finn all hit the stumps. Why have we not worked out our lengths!? Are we not a professional team? if the players are too stupid to work it out? What are the coaches and analysts doing????

Have we not said this in every test since about 1995 ?

Edit - and then when he does the opposition keeper drops a sitter
Seb watched Labushagne in the nets and said that he covers all three stumps, watches the ball square on and knows that anything outside his right eye he doesn't actually need to play. And it clearly works for him.
Thus far Australia and England have each created 18 chances to catch out batters. Australia have taken 18 England have taken 11 - this also the team that apparently doesn't give a stuff about pissing away their £15,000 (each) match fee for simply not working hard enough to bowl the MINIMUM required 90 overs in 6.5 hours of play.
Buttler just does not have the concentration levels required for Test cricket. How many days does he do keeping for 90 overs in the County Championship? Doing for 50 overs with a white ball that doesn't move after the first half a dozen overs is totally different. Taking a fantastic one handed catch does not make up for dropping two others.
Jimmy Anderson creates the best wicket taking chance of the whole day, Labuschagne is scratching around in the nervous 90's, there's only 9 minutes left for play, so Captain Genius takes him off. And we wonder why some of the players maybe aren't quite at the races, they must know they are led by morons.
Foakes also has a fifty against Aussie bowlers on the current tour
Indeed he has. I don't understand why he's not in the team. Knowing England they will probably drop Buttler for Bairstow.
you've answered your own question, bairstow and buttler are good mates with root. They've both shown they can do it in international cricket in one day cricket so they'll keep getting chances in test match cricket. It's like how our one day team used to be, no matter how shit you were at one day you'd still get picked if you were in the test team.

5-0 whitewash if you are going to drop those.
