Does anybody know who the black armbands that Australia are wearing are for?
Australia's players are wearing black armbands today, as a mark of respect for the five children tragically killed in a freak bouncy castle accident in Devonport, Tasmania on Thursday.
"The Australian men’s cricket team pay their pay their respects and show their love and support of the grief-stricken Devonport families who must be in unimaginable pain following yesterday’s tragic events" Cricket Australia said in a statement. "It was deeply saddening for all.
"Today, Australia and the match officials will wear black armbands today to honour those lost."
It might be good if we can keep it REALLY tight tomorrow, so that Australia need to bat on into the evening
Do England want to bowl out Australia too quickly now? The quicker that happens, the longer we have to bat under the lights against fresh and fired up bowlers

Think the Aussies will have a 40 minute thrash and either get to 440 plus or be all out in that time

They might not feel that is enough runs though. The slow scoring rate from the top order batsmen means they're a bit short of where you'd expect them to be
I was having an argument this morning with my 8 year old about the state of Burns’ hair. I said his teammates should have held him down and cut it off by now. I’m keeping that image above as ‘exhibit a’ to prove to her later how bad things can be if left to get out of hand

When your batting set is about as stern as a paper house in a force 12 gale and your only real strength is in your bowling line up, and they are being made to look silly, I think it's not too presumptuous to expect a complete blood bath!

Hameed as well!
Oh well, at least we never have to watch them at the crease for too long
Woakes is in danger of proving what some people think of his bowling. So has figures of 2-148 in the series and neither of those wickets were a top six bat. Stokes' figures aren't much better but at least he looks threatening and got Warner out (twice if you count the no ball), is the 4th/5th seamer anyway and there to bat in the middle order.
So that means that we will have to bite the bullet and play a non batsman at 8. Which will be fine if the top 7 perform but that is a big "if". There again, we probably shouldn't be relying on the bottom four for runs anyway.

My word - that's awful.
390-7 at tea
PLEASE prove me wrong
45-4.
I actually think I couldn’t do a worse job fielding than half this mob and I’m 51 dodgy eyes knees and arm
but I can fucking catch
