Have to laugh - I was curious to see the Chelsea line up tonight see if I recognise any names coming through.
Neither they nor Aston Villa bothered to even mention the game on their twitter accounts.
I know the whole reason for the kids to be in the competition is for THEM to gain experience in the Senior Game - But given how the clubs have demanded B team access to the EFL, it would be nice if they made an effort to actually advertise these games.

Edit: Finally found it on Google...
Adam Gilchrist and Brian Hughes in defence
They had to sign the latter after his penalty defeated them in the League Cup.
We've got some good keepers coming through at the moment.
As well as harness - who I agree looks very good - there is of course Maynard-Brewer out on loan who looked very impressive when he played last year. And the young kid Beadle, who was touted as being on his way to Chelsea, could be the best of the lot should he stay.
Will be interesting to see who finally comes through as top dog.

Im a little surprised we've been seeing Nathan Harvey on the bench in these games, especially as Beadle was in the first couple.
Good performance tonight. The ones closest to the first team squad now are Elerewe, Burstow and Arter on that performance out of the non first teamers. Kirk actually looked better defending and bringing the ball ot of defence than he does at the other end of the pitch. Bakrin looked good and not much behind Elerewe It was a real shame Morgan's great free kick hit the post. It may have lifted him had it gone in.
I have enjoyed all 3 of these home games this season and its a real shame some of our fans look down on rhese games. They are fun and it is good to see who is coming through. Burstow would probably not be developing as well as he is without these games.

Agree, although believe it or not, MacGillivray was on the bench against Crawley!

Southern section last 8 (or is it last 12?):
Cambridge Charlton Chelsea U21s MK Dons Sutton OR Stevenage Swindon OR Colchester Ipswich OR Arsenal U21 Exeter OR Portsmouth
What a hotchpotch of teams still left in the competition, to think we could play the Arsenal or Chelsea U21s next, or play the likes of Sutton or Stevenage

Away to Exeter on a Tuesday night may be a challenge
Enjoyed that. Thought Bakrin was our best defender, Harness was excellent and Burstow a real prospect.
Would like to mention Kirk & Morgan who both had their moments. Morgan’s assist was class and he was unlucky to only hit the post with his free kick. Kirk showed great touch and team play.
CBT gave them something to think about too and maybe it was having the experience of players like Watson that made the difference. He’s never outstanding but he’s usually doing the right thing.
Kirk actually looked better defending and bringing the ball ot of defence than he does at the other end of the pitch.
Perhaps they've been working on Kirk in training, tightening up his defensive game and preparing him for a wingback role?
Jacko's lopsided 3-5-2 is evidently to continue as the preferred formation; in that respect, it wouldn't surprise me that extra work is being done with each of our wingers to improve their defensive role.
I enjoyed that! OK it fell away a bit in the second half but there was some cracking football from both sides in the first half.
Good to see some of our younger players looking very promising. Burstow showed once again that he has one heck of a future if he keeps developing. Can only hope that some Premier League team doesn't have a crafty punt on him very soon. Elerewe getting all the praise at the moment for breaking through into the first squad but Bakrin doesn't look that far behind him to me. Would be good to see those two go on to form a first team central defence for us. And Harness is a promising keeper.
Strangest thing was seeing Harry Arter get roughed up by the Villa players. They gave him one or two pretty heavy knocks and he looked glad to come off!
Praise to JJ for picking just the right team - a mix of experience and youth. It's a rubbish tournament I know but as I think we are only 3 (or possibly 4 - is the semi final 2 legs?) I'd really like to see us give it a good go to get to Wembley.
That sounds positive about JJ, enjoyed the game and thought Villa looked very good going forward, but our boys more than matched them and deserved the win.

Have I missed any really good jokes about how old/slow Watson is?
