No it won’t, see last season.Pelling1993 said:I don't think we have a chance in hell of making the playoffs but it so important not to let the season drift. Finishing as high as possible will breed confidence for next season. A striker is needed ASAP3 -
Agreed. But I think neither will happen.superdulvertonred said:Still think we have a better chance of being in the play off race than a relegation battle but fear neither is most likely
12/1 to make top six.
50/1 to be relegated.0 -
Washington back tomorrow .. Stockley not has bad as expected May even make Saturdaykillerandflash said:Stockley will be out for a few games with his hip complaint, we need another striker now, not on the 31st January. We have 4 league games before then2 -
We were never going to go down or be involved in a relegation fight …. two wins this week and the top 6 will back in sightBR7_addick said:

What are we offering them, our bum ffs1 -
Hasn’t Cawley denied we are interested.king addick said:1 -
we should be holding trials for loan players.
prem clubs that have younsters they want playing first team football, send em all down for a trial.
trials held over a five day period with eliminations each day.
means that whoever we end up with, we've already spent time working with them and getting to know them. also means the players actually want it and work for it

Dubious about this, and central midfield to me is well down the list of areas where we should be loaning a teenager anyway. Levitt, Matt Smith and Matt Smith all barely played for us.king addick said:

What about Idah at Norwich, he's a big unit and was getting good comments when at loan at PNE.killerandflash said:Stockley will be out for a few games with his hip complaint, we need another striker now, not on the 31st January. We have 4 league games before then1 -

Doesn’t he start for them? If it’s a prem loan I’d take James Mcatee seems like a very good finisheriaitch said:

Thanks, didn't know that. He was on the bench on Sunday not that that means much.0

Judging by these highlights, he seems to be more of an attacking midfield "link" player. Left footed and in our current formation, would probably be competing for Elliot Lee's position?killerandflash said:

Remember he is Cup tied and wouldn't be available for Wembley if we got there.😊😊king addick said:1 -
I'd rather play one of our own academy players in that position if we can't get anyone experienced in.Callumcafc said:

Salford City are in talks to sign Burton Albion player Kane Hemmings in this transfer window, Football League World can reveal.
Salford are into the top half of the League Two table and will be looking to climb further in the second half of the season, with them finding a bit more form of late under Gary Bowyer.

I’d rather not sign a kid on loan from Palace either but if (big if) he’s levels above what we have then we’d be silly not to take him. I’ll trust Gallen and Jacko’s judgement on any players they bring in.killerandflash said:

Maybe he'll be as successful as Andre Green?Callumcafc said:https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/derby-sheffield-wednesday-charlton-and-portsmouth-eye-aston-villa-player-transfer/DERBY, SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY, CHARLTON AND PORTSMOUTH EYE ASTON VILLA PLAYER TRANSFER

Very well thought of at the Villa academy - more so than Andre Green ever was. Expect him to get a move to the Championship, unless Gerrard wants to keep him and integrate into the first team there.iaitch said:

Virtually the same wording as for the Palace player "linked". These rags just pick a Premier League youngster & then throw a few clubs into the mix.Callumcafc said:https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/derby-sheffield-wednesday-charlton-and-portsmouth-eye-aston-villa-player-transfer/DERBY, SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY, CHARLTON AND PORTSMOUTH EYE ASTON VILLA PLAYER TRANSFER

Great another midfielder . Just what we need of course.king addick said:1 -
Then only of these Twitter transfer accounts worth following is Football Insider who generally get a fair bit correct0

It appears a few have missed the above post so going to re post. The palace kid isn’t linked with us and we haven’t made any offer or enquiry so we can ignore that - Confirmed by Rich Crawley1

We desperately need a CREATIVE midfielder. One who can pass forward and not sideways. You can have the greatest striker in the league but you need someone to create chances for them.addick1956 said:Great another midfielder . Just what we need of course.5 -
Glad to see that we are keeping our cards close to our chest. Look forward to a couple of panic buys at last knockings... Have we been here before?3

How many proper transfers there been in all leagues so far … there your answerDICKIE PLUMB said:i really don’t understand why there is this obsession with waiting until the window is about to ‘slam’ shut before doing any business. Ipswich did a lot of talking pre season - that went well didn’t it.DICKIE PLUMB said:i really don’t understand why there is this obsession with waiting until the window is about to ‘slam’ shut before doing any business. I get that some clubs might be reluctant to sell and are practicing brinkmanship but money talks and the number of games any new players are missing during the window could be critical. Not being turned over when you negotiate a deal is hardly an obsession.Fans are experts at talking and how to spend the owner’s money but thankfully someone else is in control.8 -
Completely agree, it is great, we could do with another midfielder.addick1956 said:

i think its clear that watson and morgan don't feature in jacko's plans (which is good) and would expect them to be gone at the end of the season so another midfielder, although not as critical as a striker or two, is definitely required11
