After 40 overs we were 130 for 9.
I thought I had gone back 30 years & was watching the 40 overs matches they used to play on a Sunday.
Bowlers having to bowl of much shorter run ups.
Those were the days.3 -

Potts has Williamson again!0

Potts 6-22 in the game to date. He must wonder why there is such a fuss about stepping up to Test cricket.0

At what point do we start worrying about this lead?2

Sitting in a pub watching this whilst on a date (you would think it was deliberate to choose this pub as I knew they had it on with screens outside but honest I didn't, bit of fucking luck it does though cos the fact I can send this message shows the date is obviously not going well) but when they showed Parkinson's recent wickets at Hampshire there was plenty of players around the batsman. Should really have a more attacking field for him.2

Am I the only person who is more fed up about commentators constantly talking about slow over rate rather than the actual slow over rate itself?0

Lead by 150. Even if we start taking wickets they will have 200+. I think we will have to chase 250+ which will be too much 4th innings.0 -

Not that I have any confidence in England getting 250+ of course0 -
Another 13 overs before the new ball but NZ's lead by then should be 230 plus0

NZ might as well declare, no way will England make the lead as it stands!0

Did the pitch suddenly become a road? What’s going on?0

Harry Brook & Craig Overton given permission to play T20 this evening and will return to the Test set up in a couple of days time.0

2nd day in and we've already lost this test.Yet another pathetic performance. Why did Crawley Pope and Root play in a T20 match before this test? Why is Bairstow playing when he hasnt played any red ball cricket? As soon as a team gets ahead we go to pieces.Different management set up and new captain but still the same feeble performances.Feels as we've never been away.Well played New Zealand.2

Don’t feel tip top but better than I was. Hope you’re keeping well?3 -
Who was it here who changed their estimate of our lead from 100 when Crawley and Lees were in to 10?0

I also said earlier that we wouldn't be able to chase down anything above 250+.
Nothing to do with the pitch just scoreboard pressure.0 -
My first time at Lord's. What a. Magnificent cricket ground & a fantastic experience.
1 thing I did notice, which I don't think comes across on TV, is how much time Root spends polishing the ball after every bloody delivery!!! No wonder England's over rate is so poor!!2 -
Upper Compton was excellent, had it's own bar up there & toilets like in The Grandstand. Didn't have to leave the top floor all day, very chilled avoiding the masses.3

Sky have lost from their commentary box, for one reason or another in the last few years David Gower, Ian Botham, Michael Holding, David Lloyd, Shane Warne and Rob Key. Not so bothered about Beefy but they could do worse than to try and persuade the likes of Lord Gower, Bumble and Whispering Death to come back even if, in the case of the latter and his desire to retire, it was just for the odd stint here and there. Very difficult to replace their humour, knowledge and class.4
