Yeah but what time were they born, so we can get a definitive youngest to 10k
Root did it in the morning session. That needs to be factored in
Apparently there's been more leap years in Root's 31 years than Cook's, so Cook took a day less!
Good point. But cook had that amazing series down under where he scored 700 runs, factor in the time difference, cook was actually 32 by the time he scored 10,000 runs
Cant underestimate the contribution of foakes to that stand ...he had a good match ...a good victory but something to build on ...still doubts about 4 of the top 6 but a very good debut from potts..hope parky keeps his spot too
Some things are going to take a while to change in England's development of county players into test players If England had been planning on Pope batting at 3, why hadn't they asked Surrey to play him there this season, ever? Were they making it up on the fly or does the hierarchy lack the grey matter?
Most of England's seam bowlers fired and across 2 innings there were 4 decent batting performances - this proved enough to win The opposition had 2 rain affected warm up matches as their only red ball cricket in 3 months, some had just landed from the IPL. We shouldn't get too excited by this one match Even if the Kiwis don't improve much this month, India will be a very different proposition
Predictably Matt Parkinson is tossed back into the long grass for 2nd test - at least the poor sod won't be carrying the drinks as often this summer as he has in recent years.
Talk that Matt Henry has been given the nod by NZ ahead of Wagner to come in for Patel who didnt bowl well. NZ expected to run without a spinner. Nicholls also expected to return in place of the injured CDG.
For now . Rashid is dropping hints that he’d like to come back to the test team . Got to be a no brainier
If we could rotate him with parkinson that might be ideal. But with both rashid and moeen dropping hints about a test return... you've got to ask what on earth was happening under joe root if these both feel they can return now?
Not seen anything from him(or any spin boeler) to say that will take any wickets or even hold up an end. He was sending down full tosses & pies. Root has been our best slow bowler over the past few years.

I know what you are implying but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I could of course be wrong.
