We didn’t sign Bonne and adults are crying 🤣.
See you all Saturday.8 -
I've lost complete faith in the ITK'ers, don't blame you guys but it's clear your sources know fuck all (including Martin Sandgaard)8

Following the closure of the 2022 summer transfer window, the club would like to update supporters.
The Addicks signed seven players during the window and were working very hard to add at least one more player on transfer deadline day.
Charlton Owner and CEO Thomas Sandgaard said: “It has been a busy few days and we were very confident of bringing in another striker before the deadline. The whole recruitment team - myself, Steve [Gallen], Martin [Sandgaard] and Ben [Garner] - have been working tirelessly to get this last deal completed.
“We thought we were there and the player had passed his medical at our training ground on Thursday evening, but unfortunately there were complications beyond our control late in the day, which went down to the last minute, and we haven’t been able to sign the player.
“With players departing the club on loan, that frees up some space in the squad and we’ll now have a further look at options in the free agent market.
“Despite not getting a striker in, we have a very good squad in place and an excellent manager, as our early-season performances have shown. The whole group are focused on the coming months and doing the best they can for the club.”

Cue all the people who said “I’d rather no one than Bonne” complaining that we didn’t sign any one.9

Because we're a decent striker short....1 -
Classic Charlton.
We just don't do deadline days.5 -

Also to not get a centre back in is absolute negligence. Think I'm more pissed off at that tbh.19

But until it happens a lot can change - No wonder less and less people on here are sharing information they're aware of, if they're gonna get stick when it doesnt happen1 -
What were the complications, sounds very ambiguous.
If Aneke can pass a medical don’t see why Bonne can’t.1 -

It could have been many reasons

I kind of WOULD rather we'd signed no-one than Bonne. Kanu and Leaburn are clear. Wibble3

Doesn't mean we couldn't have signed someone else.
I can't think that they'll be a stunning choice of free agents.1 -

Stayed up waiting for that.
I know some laugh at the meltdowns but it's not good enough for a club aiming for promotion.
We have Inniss as one of three senior CBs and Aneke as one of two senior strikers. We'll be looking for free agents who will need time to get fit. It won't be long until we're hoping the likes of Ness and Leaburn are ready for a run of starts.
Urgh.30 -
So many people delighted they can have a meltdown now.
We still finish ahead of where we did last season. Maybe Bonne gets a release and we can grab him on a free, who knows.6 -
Seems like absolutely zero point offloading JFC now1
-
Absolute no mention of a defender either. What happened with that?2
-
Wasn't keen on Bonne, but it's pretty poor to have ended up signing nobody!4
-
Months of data analysis and scouting to come up with a former player on deadline day who then can't join us because presumably his club couldn't get a replacement sorted.
Strategic genius.35 -

We’ve lost 1 in 6 against decent sides and peoples worlds are falling apart.3
