He needs to sign someone by the end of the day of it’s another season wasted..
Welcome Ben, I’m quietly optimistic with this appointment, attacking football is the way to go in this league, no respect.2 -
Welcome Ben Garner, and good luck. Looking forward to the coming season, and attractive attacking football. COYR!

Where's the perm? ,now for a better season,,hopefully.0

Happy with this surprise appointment!Garners Swindon really impressed me last season, I watched their game against Forest Green and they were brilliant. Cup game against city was also good and I was shocked at how well they were knocking the ball about for a league 2 team, looks nice on the eye! He now needs backing from TS, and players through the door to suit his style of play. This is an exciting appointment I think but he needs time to implement his philosophy, might not happen straight away.10

I've been waiting years & years for a manager to implement an attacking team - one that has more shots than the opposition & puts that above defending.
Only problem is.............has he seen the current squad ? A lot of rebuilding & coaching needed to get this lot shooting at every opportuinty.
At least I've found my home.........20 -
Welcome Ben.
Can't quite believe the saga we've had for this appointment, but glad it's over the line1 -
Presumably that "we build from the back" chant is well and truly out the window now.
Welcome Ben, let's get down to business0 -

My Swindon-supporting mates all rate him highly and were disappointed when they first heard he was leaving. If he gets the right support with the squad, his style of football could work really well for us. There's a lot still to be done, but this seems like grounds for optimism to me.14
-
I think he’ll get on well with Sandgaard. Quite impressed with everything I’ve learned about him since he was first linked. Best realistic option out there. Sandgaard needs to step back and support him now.7

BG was quite humble and while he talked about improving and creating a style of playing he wasnt talking about blowing the league away and that we needed to respect other teams.
But the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Hope Thomas gives him the right ingredients.
Just win games.11 -
Call me naive, but I’m really looking forward to next season now. That’s dependent on a decent window of course.Only downside is that we already have too many Bens.2
-
Welcome Ben and I hope you are a great success here. Just don't forget we need to defend too, and the squad as it stands needs at least two new centre backs and a right back, all of decent quality.0

Let's hope he delivers, I'd never heard of him before 2 weeks ago so he could be the next Eddie Howe or the next Russell Slade for all I know.0
-
Welcome Ben.
Thank feck for that. Aaaaand breath.
Right. Now we can all concentrate our negativity on the Summer Transfer Rumours thread.3 -

Stop being sarcastic.
The idea of the Spanish trip is to get the players to bond and get to know the new manager and have some guaranteed heat and they will sweat their Cod's off trying to impress the new Manager. I have seen it with my own eye having been and watched training and the players were like kids on the first day at school with the new teacher in Spain. Teachers pets have to prove their selves again and squad players may get a new chance to shine.
I Believe that Thomas Sandgaard realizes that the waiting last season didn't work and we will need to sign more 1st and 2nd choices as 5th choices gets you no where.
Unless it's the late signing similar to Yann the recruitment will be done quicker.0 - Sponsored links:
